I can't speak for other groups but I feel like bts it is just the two most popular members. If we're talking about chemistry it would be v and jimin.
It might be that they were going for most chemistry as well as visual but I feel like that would be v and jin (plus jimin is hoooot [I might be ever so slightly bias] )

I'm curious how much of this is the impact of the 5 acts fandoms/gp checking it out and how much of it is that the gp loves the song. I think I'll wait for at least another week to see if the song still rises or stays somewhat stable. Though, regardless of my opinion, I did expect for the song to have a certain level success and right now there aren't any new releases to competition is a bit low (correct me if I'm wrong). Though I would be surprised if this stays stable on the charts.

Okay I don't know the specific incident with Jae that you are referring to but if they are friends I don't see a problem at all. Me and my friends joke about a lot of things and call each other sl*t, bitc*, etc. It's our way of talking and neither of us have a problem with it. Honestly these idols are grown men, and just like most grown ups they're going to curse at each other. As long as both parties are okay with it it's not our job as fans to micromanage, unless one of the parties states they don't like being called something. We're fans are should know our limits.

I wanna say w1 for most of 2017 and BTS starting from october. 2017 was when bts first performed at the amas and won top social artist in the bbmas. I remember reading that those reports were all over sk at the time. Plus there was DNA, which even till this day is one of the most successful songs by an idol group. I feel like SD was more of a sleeper, like it was huge as we can see today, but I don't think that song is necessarily associated with bts in the sense that its success didn't make them bigger or anything. In fact, I've watch some koreans reacting to that song and they were shocked that it was a bts song.
So anyway, I think once bts released DNA and went to the amas and bbmas, they were officially the top boy group and dna was released september of 2017. The reason bts ranked #1 boy group on the gallup survey is that it's taken at the end of the year so people will remember bts for their achievements for 2017 but before DNA it was definitely w1.

BP is around 2.5M
Twice is probably 900k
TXT is 1M
Seventeen: 2.5M
NCT: 127 has a good chance at 3M. I think Dream is around 2.5M.
Stray Kids and Enhyphen: I'm not sure. I think close to 1.5m but not quite there.
Aespa I'm thinking around 750-800k. I wouldn't be shocked if they hit 1M but I don't think so. I'm just not sure about their growth.
Don't know much about ateez and the boys so no comment on them.

It depends on what material this is. My friend brought a hydro carbon robe for $80 a couple weeks ago from nordstrom. Even some of her 100% cotton pj sets are $40 and they aren't from super luxurious brands. I do agree that hybe has been more money hungry recently but I think we should first see if maybe the material is expensive and go from there. The one think I was made about was the be album. Like, why couldn't they release both versions at the same time. I know some people said they saw the outcry from fans and then made the other version so if that's the case I hope they will see the outcry now and either lower the prices or make another set with polyester and sell it for $40.

are you referring to BTS here? Have we been watching the same performances? They have rarely lip-synced during the pandemic. The Muster, BangBangCon, Map of the Soul ON:E, Tiny Desk, MTV Unplugged, Festa Room Live, BBMA/AMA/VMAs, Grammys, GMA summer concert, BBC Live Lounge....all were veryy much live as you can easily hear the changes they made whether it was the lyrics, ad-libs, etc. Maybe you are referring to their late night tv show appearances? They got really creative these last two years with elaborate set designs for those and had to shoot in parts and edit them together for the final product, but having just finished watching Memories of 2020 you can definitely see that these were recorded with live vocals + backing track. So no, not having an audience didn't effect their live singing.
Plenty of BTS content that we got during the pandemic were clearly live singing. BangBang con, MOTS one, Muster, PTD concert. Leaving MAMA aside, MMA 2020 and TFMA 2020 performances had live singing for sure. Same for their New Year performances last year. And there was no audience in all those cases.
???? Lol.
Lip syncing is unavoidable at times due to the environment of the show or poor conditions of artist health( unavoidable too)
But BTS sang live in their online concerts/shows which was so noticeable when watching the behind or just the way they adlibbed throughout the song with comments and notes (ie.PTD online Concert) Were we watching the same thing? Use another example instead.
Okay I edited to say some rather than most. I think their online concerts were mostly live apart from some songs. Their dynamite and on performances were mostly song live and were pieced together or something. I really didn't have time to follow them after that with moving into college and stuff so I'm not sure about their butter and ptd performances. Though I remember some had teleporting and stuff so I know those aren't live. I was more making a comparison about how bts are known to always sing live and they switched it up with the pandemic to show more of a performance aspect. I'm sorry if that didn't come across.

I think it was just the concert. Like, some of bts stuff was lip synced during the pandemic but once they were able to have an audience they sing live. The concert didn't have a live audience, hence it was lip synced to showcase the performance aspect. I do agree they could have not edited some parts when they were just sitting down and singing so that the vocals sounded raw and more emotional but it's a free concert so I don't think it's right to complain. In general, I think the lip sync thing is mainly affecting aespa since they aren't a performance/dance group like other sm groups. Nobody is going to complain if they pull of amazing choreo but if the choreo is basic you do expect live singing to make up for that. For example, Taemin's songs are mostly pre-recorded but he pulls of amazing dances. However, taeyeon sings more live since she doesn't dance in her songs.

I reconsider what I originally thought about Jopping. I thought the lyrics were a bit silly but it's a lyrical masterpiece compared to this. Also, at least Jopping was fun to listen to. I listened to it a lot at the gym. This feels like a bad nct song. nct in general are not my cup of tea but I do like their choruses. I love sm choruses so much and they gave me this. Honestly, I wasn't expecting ground breaking women empowerment lyrics from sm but I was at least hopping for something like savage or next level. They also need a new producer cause what was that. I understand wanting to highlight everyones vocal ability but when almost all the members are vocalists you kinda need to just take a step back. You don't need super powerful vocals for a song to be considered good. They should have done those high notes closer to the end of the song to add pace like they did with next level.
The performance was good. Loved taeyeon and the pink haired girl. They really slayed. Wendy and seulgi were also good. Though with all these amazing dancers I was hoping for a really amazing dance performance, especially since this wasn't live.

Chanyeol isn't even the person who fits the korean beauty standard the best in exo. There are members who fit it better but aren't as popular. I think he's more popular because of his personality. He just has a personality that draws you in and seems very friendly and funny.
Aespa are solid vocalists. There aren't many 4th gen groups that could beat them in vocals.
Jisoo isn't the best actor but she's not half bad. She's not winning any actor of the year award but I think she is a better actor than most idols. And how is Eunwoo better. You are right with his acting. He's only an actor because of his face. Not sure about his singing and dancing skills so won't comment on that.

Okay I personally don't think the lyrics are really bad or something but the problem is the way sm marketed them. They were supposed to be a women empowerment group or something. Like, if this was just another kpop song it would be fine but it's just the way sm marketed got. Honestly though I can't say I'm surprised. SM isn't known for their meaningful lyrics.
-
Didn't they have sponsors? Also, they did have streaming services and stuff so I'm pretty sure they didn't have any net loss. It's a promotional tactic to get fans of one group to at least check out what their other groups have to offer. Each company has their own investments. Hybe invests a lot on year end stages while SM doesn't. I remember reading that one year BTS's year end award show cost was $2 million for just one show (that may be wrong so if anyone knows the actual amount please comment it). Ever company has these investments. Also why are fans complaining about a free concert. I'm sure big companies can handle their own finances. I just watched the performances and had fun. Not my job to worry about a multi-million dollar company's finances.

I knew bts would win but so happy to see yunho.

TXT really are impressive.

Alright my points:
1) SM really needs to work with aespa on stage presence and being EXPRESSIVE when they are performing.
2) The song was just messy. Like, I listened to it at least 5 times and still don't know the melody of the chorus. SM can be as experimental as they want about other stuff but any song needs a catchy chorus. The screaming bits were bad. Like, you have to know how to use them. Aespa's next level had that as well but they were used properly and didn't seem out of place. This song, they were just everywhere without any rhyme or reason.
3) The lyrics. If you look at it normally there's nothing wrong. I think the problem was sm stating that this got were going to be about women empowerment and then giving us this crap.
In conclusion, I better hear something different on Jan 3rd.

This was definitely not sm's best. Like, they had atlantis and taemin's solo this year and next level and then give us this. The main thing is the chorus. Even if sm experiments a lot, I feel like with most songs they have a catchy chorus and a cool beat drop. Like even nct songs have a catchy chorus.
Also about the screaming parts. If used properly they can be very nice (like next level). This song, they were just used everywhere without any purpose. Mostly, they should be used at the end to add a bit more variation in the song.
