Exactly.

This is why there are some popular groups I just can't seem to enjoy. If after listening 30 secs to a song I don't like it, I just turn it off.

except for bubble pop I loved all of those. Nobody edges out Roly Poly juuuuuust a tiny bit. I was a big stan of T-ara. Those scandals hurt them so much. G idle remind me a bit of them in the sense thay all their tts are successful releases. I loved all of them.

Good tea OP, but disagree on BTS and screaming rap. At least their music has a tune. That's because of the great balance of rappers and vocalists. They're a very complete group because they touch all aspects (rap, good catchy vocal bits, good choreography).

I can't say the same about other other bgs from their time and afterwards - NCT, Ateez, Stray Kids etc. I really tried, but I could never get into their music if I can't follow the tune, meh.

But then you have other bgs with good tunes - TXT, Enhypen (except pass the mic... yikes), EXO, GOT7, Wanna one, etc.

I do like to watch super shy though, it's like a flash mob!

They don't have mind-blowing belting (?) voices like some SM idols or hard-core choreo like LSF ( ) but their songs and performances are just nice to watch. I dont know, their music just stood out from everything eles in kpop back then. So I like them.

So that evens out everything.

I already mentioned this in another thread.

Among other things, idols can't interact with each other if they're a different gender or else rumors start. So it all feels a bit mid and fake nowadays.

I only like BTS' variety content, the rest feels a bit fake and forced.

However there are groups releasing good songs ATM.

Unfortunately released at the wrong time. If it had been released last year it would have been one of their most appreciated, iconic songs.

Well at least Suju level, because they have frequent comebacks even though they have their own things even though theyre edging past mid 30's.

I don't want "anniversary" comebacks Honestly I was disappointed with SNSD because of that, it felt a bit forced to me. But you can't expect a lot when more than half ot the group has left SM. That's why I don't have many hope for EXO.

Honestly about Exo it's nuts how Let Me In was not talked about that much, taking into account what EXO was in the past and how good the song is. It went completely under the radar. It was as relevant as a nugu release... that's why I get sad when my groups start fading into obscurity and only come back/are fed only by die hard fans. At least we got killing voice! Well deserved.

I am an ARMY, but if I don't like something or I smell shenanigans then I won't blindly defend them or HYBE. I owe nothing to them and they're not my family/friends.

Being happy that NJ is getting many awards this year when BTS solos were also nominated doesnt make me less of a fan. The girls deserved it.

Also yes, I wish EXO would come back in full force to save us from this drought. Luckily TXT and Enhypen occasionally have good releases for me to enjoy.

Unfortunately I'm afraid they'll follow SNSD and release an album with a single every X years and schedules align. With things like this, and just like Mamamoo, I prefer to rip off the band aid and just accept that these groups won't ever come back like they did. It's like a single to fulfill contract obligations and off they go again.
