Welp, another nail in the coffin.

*insert Sheldon gif blowing on a paper bag*
Also as an army I hope Exo keep on going. Groups like them have too many good songs and vocals just to disappear, they deserve more.

This could be such an awesome combination, but SM has been following the noise music trend for a while so I can't seem to enjoy it...
-
well, like I've mentioned before, that's how you know that a group is truly popular. People are enjoying the music for what it is, and not for being a stan, a group's visuals, scandals or bots.
EDIT: Remember the days of SNSD? The craze about streams wasn't there yet. Everyone knew Gee or Genie, and imitated the choreography. Everyone knew who they were. They were truly popular.

Also I don't care.. As long as he still sing and making music
That's the answer, we can close the thread.

someone said on that Twitter thread that it looks like he's holding on a laugh and I agree Eheheh. It's like I can hear his window wipe shield clean laugh eheheheh

Coming to Barcelona and I was planning to fly there to see them live for the first time. One step closer to having them perform in my country.
I'll never forgive covid and all the things it took from us. Even in my personal life.
Sometimes I feel that when 2020 kicked in I entered a parallel world where everything is horrid. Even post covid I'm not really enjoying how society and the world is at and I'm afraid of what's to come. Sorry it's 4 AM and I can't sleep and I just needed to get this out of my chest

Well that was funny.
Although if he meant SOUTH KOREA as a country with a short history that would make sense.
I've had civilizations in my country since 3000 years ago. But on the other hand, the country is less than 1000 years old.

I like Impurities and No Celestial better than Antifragile, but LE SSERAFIM is clearly the group of the year.
Agreed.
Although antifragile is an earworm. I've given my 2 cents on that song and my distaste for reggaeton like music, but that DAMN song is stuck in my head
I wake up in the morning and I can hear it already
However I do believe it was a very strong year for girl groups. Boy groups on the other hand...

I figured it would be too hard/straining to film enough episodes until they all come back (it'd be like... filming 36 episodes if we had 1 per month?!).
It was good while it lasted.
I just hope eventually the show comes back. But yeah... maybe they'll be "too old" for this later on (as in, can you imagine Suju filming these kind of shows?)

C'mon, not everyone's supposed to enjoy the same things.
I do have to say tho, the song was a disserve to his talent tbh. We know he's capable of much more. But he was just given the song to sing...

I think it's more than time for Taeyon to do a whole album with songs like Time lapse, 11 11 and If. She should just focus on being a singer now rather than a pop star. She's done that already. She should move on. And SM shouldn't stop her. If music is really what she cares about.
SM mostly care about money and puting it's own agenda out. Taeyeon should just focus on music solely if she wants to be taken more seriously as a singer.
She is a very versatile singer and she owns everything she sings but i personally think it's now just a waste of time and effort and talent to make her sing rnb and pop. Enough. She deserve better. She can do better.

Good.
Now get both groups together for a super performance on stage.
It would be ALL KILL for the 4th generation.

as a singer/perfomer/vocalist I also think that Taeyeon is superior to IU. But IU has a more commercial voice.
I don’t know how to explain but both have strong points. Taeyeon as a performer and as an emotional singer while IU has a prettier vocal color but less emotional ability. IU also writes songs while Taeyeon doesn’t really that's why IU is so respected too.
Their voices are different also, one is more warm and rich while the other is more etheral and light. But both are amazing.
The thing with Taeyeon is that even tho SM gives Taeyeon a lot of opportunities Sm also puts limites to her as a singer.
I personally think SM made Taeyeon a kpop queen but to be more of a queen amongst 'singers' she needs to put out more serious work. I feel like Taeyeon is limited in SM. Condamned to sing rnb or pop songs when she could be doing something that suits her musical color more like ballads and alt rock. Songs like 11 11, Time lapse and If. She could reach higher status as a singer in Korea if she did that. Maybe not lile IU but high enough regardless.
Exactly!
I also liked that era of hers. I LOVE Rain, 11 11, 4 Seasons etc... but it went downhill with Weekend and INVU. Yikes.
She's capable of much more.
Rose of BP is hindered in the same aspect IMO. Her voice doesn't even touch Taeyeon's tbh, but she has this own style that would suit her much better.
Either way, even though I'm a SONE, Taeyeon indeed shines more solo (also happened with TaeTiSeo despite the high notes).
I also feel this with JK of BTS. But it's not as much as BH's choices... I dunno but he's capable of singing GREAT songs. But he's somehow always placed in mediocre ones that don't really allow his vocal skills to shine. Compare for instance Suga's Stay Alive (
) to Charlie Puth's Left and Right and the world cup song.
Honestly, both were disservices to his skills. IMO.

Nxde is the most disappointing imo
Oh, forgot about that one. Tomboy was the superior release.
And I usually enjoy ALL of G-Idle's releases (except Dumdi Dumdi lol)
-
Why can't people just enjoy music for what it is?
If it pleases you, listen and dance to it.
If it doesn't, let it go.
The fact that a song sells more or less doesn't influence how much you like or dislike it.
I actually like both songs, but I'm happy for NJ's success.
This is what leads to petty fanwars. Yikes.

Honestly no one currently. 4G is now and we don't have a standout soloist from the previous era.
Taeyeon was a household name as a singer at pretty much debut for SNSD and dubbed the ost queen as a teenager. She was highly regarded as an elite singer even before her solo debut years later. And we all know how amazing her solo career has been. Her career as an individual singer basically is her entire 15 years which is much longer than any other idol who often develop as soloists much later on.
Agreed with this. Unfortunately as a soloist I think she's still in the shadow of IU, who seems to shine and sell more. Taeyeon deserves more tbh, maybe it's not me to say it as I'm a foreigner, but she's superior to IU who's the princess of Korea.
But yeah I also remember the days of TaeTiSeo (which I worshipped) and how they made her sing such high notes. A disservice to her talent tbh.
I wish we could see Taeyeon shine brightly (even more). Also due to her talent, I could see her as a solo singer in the west too. With good promo she could go far.
Because of this yes, I can't see anyone taking her place. Her voice colour is unique and beautiful. I can't see anyone else shining like her. There's Wheein but... maybe her releases are a bit forgetful, I don't know.

Well thought BH, I was not expecting this.
