It is the same in the west, Michael Jackson is still extremely popular after all the things he have done.
I was just going to say this. Such a name in the history of music, and then we got to know more.

VERY.
Also after all the events in 2022 I completely lost hope of ever watching it being performed.
It feels like it's a song that it's just "there" and they forgot it existed. It feels like a collab that they had to do because it was in the contract or something and since they don't feel at ease performing it (it's very high!) they're just throwing it under a bus.
No wonder their reaction to it being a fan's favorite. It feels like they got quite shocked and apprehensive because it increased pressure on performing it and they'd rather just forget it exists.
Before anyone attacks me let me say this are just my 2 cents on it.
Display MoreNow that the year is almost over what were some comebacks that didn't quite live up to your expectations (here's mine):
Yet To Come - BTS: I don't really like their ballads. This wasn't an exception

Illella - Mamamoo: It wasn't a bad song, but again after a hiatus they should come back stronger. It sounds like they haven't evolved musically since their last real comeback.

I actually like YTC but I do understand why it was underwhelming for most people. However, I prefer it to any English single they had and I didn't enjoy RunBTS like most people (it feels like there's no cohesion on the song and reminds me of noisy NCT, Ateez and Stray Kids alike; must be the Dem Jointz effect )
Mamammo felt like Hip/Aya part 2; a song by them that I didn't enjoy as much. Miss their 2018 era; it was a good balance between their old sound and the new one that was to come.
Disappointed by TXT and Enhypen in 2022, after supporting and enjoying all their releases so far. Both felt noisy and meh.... also didn't enjoy LSF's Antrifagile for the same reason, after such a strong debut. Impurities should have been the TT. One of their best songs so far (and the MV is one of the best in the last years of kpop)
I would include NewJeans with OMG as well if it hadn't been released in 2023 already. Loved all their songs except this one.
I disagree with that rank.
Also, true or not, this army only thinks "omg I wonder how their babies would look like"
Keeping me entertained until 2025
I don't know what you're on about
SKZ music is nothing like BTS. Why would I like them? It's just noise music to me
If you mean LSF and NewJeans than you're right. The girlies proved to have superior releases soundwise compared to TXT and Enhypen (that I lightly kept track on since their music was good, but not this year).
Please I don't want to be disappointed as a SONE I always dreamt of having a song between BTS and Taeyeon. For me she's very underrated as a solo artist! I've always loved her voice.
She'd suit well in a song with a member of the rap line. So if this does happen I'll be in heaven! Although if it does happen it sounds more like just a collab stage and not an official release.
WHat can you expect? Collabs between SM and HYBE are almost impossible. Although now that Jimin is featured in a Taeyang song, who knows...
My favorite vocal performance from JK, strangely, is not when he belts ala his Falling cover or his For Youth performance. It’s in this bare, unstripped moments like this he excels the most. That billion dollar voice can bring him anywhere.

You're quite right 😊
I've enjoyed all their releases until now but this one is probably their weakest.
It's not a bad song at all, it's just not "wow" like all the others... still superior to noise music though.
LOVESONG?!!
BH finally doing the right thing and promoting the right song in the west
welp, I didn't need those For Youth clips, now I'm depressed
I'm quite surprised not to see Baekhyun, Ailee, Taeyeon or Lee Hi on the list though. I think they deserve it.
Based on popularity ofc
What are you on? If this was only about popularity I doubt IU would be above JK, no matter how great she is, since this is a western publication. She's an unknown singer in the western world, unless you're a kpoppie or a kdrama addict.

Imagine going from literal legends like MJ, Madonna, George Michael, Whitney Houston, and Bruce effing Springsteen himself, to having this dude's sounds be the most popular worldwide.
We went from this effing masterpiece, a musician at the height of his craft, painting us an unbelievably vivid picture and telling a story that resonates with EVERYONE:

No love for Queen and Mr. Mercury though?
You know, someone mentioned antifragile and yeah - LOVE the LSF project, but antifragile was a HUGE downgrade for me. It's like I can hear all those trashy reggaeton songs
I was there when gasolina became a HUGE hit. I don't want to go back to those days. In my country we're being plagued with brazilian funk and it's just as bad.
I had a breakdown and had to clean my ears today with Pearl Jam. No one cares about this stuff anymore...
So basically, global music trends are yet MOAR hip hop? MOAR reggaeton and Latin music?
Like really? How many Old Town Roads, Despacitos, and Senoritas can we do before we get dead sick of this? If we're gonna rehash the exact same boring ass trap beats, reggaeton and latin beats for the trillionth time, why in god's name can't we rehash something that was actually good? Not just good, but AMAZING??
GODAMNIT, finally someone spilling the tea
I actually came to kpop more than 10 years ago exactly to run away from that
No, I don't want to wait that long that's the solo I'm anticipating the most because I love jazz and old songs!
Besides I'm wishing for OT7 in 2025, so all 6 will have to have enlisted in a year...
I don't stan Rosé. I just lihe her SONGS. Don't you remember this is about music, not about stanning someone against the others?
Agreed.
Not a blink here, but sometimes even if you don't follow a group a member catches your attention, and I've always liked her voice and noticed her cover songs and her taste for music were quite appealing. That's where I saw the potential and IMO (everyone's entitled to have one, right?) she'd be better as a solo singer. This is not token stanning anyone by the way, it's just an opinion.
I'm also a OT7 BTS stan by the way. But even though I love all my boys equally, personally the solo release I'm looking forward the most is Tae's, mostly because my own particular tastes of music do resonate with his. I love jazz and vintage stuff and you see that in his own personal tastes too.
BUT this doesn't mean that I see Tae>>>>>> the rest of BTS. It's just the music.
A pity that most of the community just chooses to waste time with other things though.
I was accused of being a bunny token stan because of what I said about BP. Like I've said before, BP had great potential, but most of the fan's obsession with stats just puts people off. It's a pity.
