So I came across this video on youtube of a former girl group member (crayon pop) and I'm honestly shocked at HOW famous they were, but now a few years later they roam the streets without even being recognised???

Im new to KPOP and I don't even know the members of got7 or much about them and they've already disbanded
so to me I dont think I will ever really get into them, since Im into their successors SKZ and ITZY, even TWICE Im not that familiar with yetI was just wondering what are the actual odds of these current groups remaining as popular as they are now? I have a feeling BTS and BP are kinda the "lucky" ones - as in I dont think every single group will reach that level of popularity especially abroad
So what do they do after?? A lot of members I think only work well with a group, so I cant imagine every single member of current groups continuing their success
Also dont the boys have to go into service?? Does this hinder them in any way? Can they maintain their life as an idol with that in the way? What generally happens? Im just super surprised about this video and how she's unrecognisable now and rowing the streets like normal???
The girl in the video literally does youtube now, which reminds me of how I think one go the got7 members are going to do youtube? I think thats super cute and probably what I'd do lmao, but yeah what is generally the usual outcome of idols? I just couldn't imagine my current favs ever being usual normal non-famous people again really - especially stray kids, but may cos Im a fan I say that

They encourage fan service and shipping members together because it still means they “belong” to the fans - since fans Stan them both as part of a group, so them showing love to each other removes chances of them being involved with someone else (they don’t take the ship serious basically)
Also it makes (the deluded) homosexual fans feel relatable to them so they love it, and it makes (deluded) straight fans feel safe that they aren’t out getting with girls (lmao)
Dating bans
- if enforced, to make the artist dedicate their life to the company
- if not - just a facade to put up to delusional fans and keep them happy making them think they wouldn’t dare date (lmaoooooooooo)
Both of these reasons, all due to fans. make interactions awkward for the idols
Literally idols from the same god damn COMPANY and GENERATION having to act like they don’t know each other when they clearly do... like come on... they’ve literally trained together and probably some romantic situations have occurred-and won’t even react to their performances or even glance at each other because they don’t want crazy fans to kick up a fuss and ship them and send them both hate
- although idols following these rules are the reason fans even get to this point, it’s literally enabling this delusional behaviour for coin
I could imagine it’s freaking awkward is for when the ships get too much between members and they start to feel like they aren’t even living their own lives anymore because people are talking about their interactions and making compilations of how they are a legit couple
That’s fuckin awkward man
BASICALLY THE CORRELATION IS
- make idols look as accessible to these deluded fans as they possibly can to drain them of their money
- to encourage their weird fantasies of members together which everyone seems to love (I don’t get it)
This way fans are always happy, their idol is “single” and all theirs and idols will only show love to their members, who fans also think are accessible to them - some weird polygamous type of parasocial relationship honestly so weird

I used to not give a f about people smoking weed
But a lot of my close friends got dependent on it
Stopped studying
Literally have no lives now and just want to smoke weed 24/7
Their health is a shambles they rather smoke weed than eat
Idk I’ve seen it actually cause hella problems for people
It’s not a great option for recreational fun for SOME people
Others I know act totally fine on weed and can still study etc
Some just cannot do anything and become nobodies with no lives no passion no motivation nothing
So depending on what effect it has on an idol, my opinion will also depend

I don’t think they were a roadblock in any other sense
I love stray kids they’re my fav but I don’t want to get my hopes up in thinking JYP won’t just discard them after he debut’s another group
I feel like they’re working so hard releasing song after song and are being rinsed as much as they can by JYPE rn

In general I am drawn more towards smaller groups because they’re easier to get to know and differentiate
There’s all these groups with hella members I’ve just not been able to get into
Like I find most of them unnecessary bodies? That would make no difference to the music

Probably, I saw one day that obtaining double eyelids is the most popular plastic surgery in Asia. They must take it really serious
But what I could observe from his statements is that he used to be a person with a really low self-estem and he keeps working on himself to be more confident. I'm happy he likes his eyes more now.

So I’ve noticed that I can’t really find any kpop idols that overwhelm me with their vocals
and there’s hardly any live songs without any backing tracks
I can hardly hear their live voices with that shitI think there is one called Hawsa or Hwasa I think - I love her voice, she’s the only once I’ve found with an actual incredible voice in the kpop industry (unless I’ve confused her name with someone else haha)
But is there anyone else I can listen to?
I’m talking to the levels of Lady Gaga, Whitney, Rihanna, Mariah, Celine, Ariana, Miley, Jessie J, Christina, etc
Like really really powerful vocals that they manage to belt out without any limitations

I find that way worse lol. BTS has great promotional style, imo but of course, people are going to complain now when they are following a time period that isn't modern.
