With 500k sales and still getting some streams on US, why they're only last 6 weeks on BB hot 100?

i suppose if some weeekly members win then they would have to leave their group and debut in this new mnet group? Sad to see my favourite group about to disintegrate like that but maybe its better i guess, their company has not even given them a comeback in more than a year anyways.

Ive vs Newjeans is this generation's version of Twice vs Blackpink. Ive started the 4.5 generation just like how Twice started the 3.5 generation and dominated first. Then a year later came New Jeans/Blackpink to take the Kpop world by storm and engineer a cultural reset (BP's girl crush and NJ's Y2K aesthetic).
Twice successfully fought back against BP for 2-3 years and Ive is doing the same thing now. Ive and New Jeans will be going at it for the next two years at least.
I'm actually love this kind of two horse-race. But I'm afraid this will be not the case. Baby monster still yet to be debuted, NMIXX and aespa still considered dark horses, (G)-idle is quite strong and fifty fifty is full of surprise.
First, I had never got any known about their CEO need to sold any car to fund the comeback.
Second, Yes, fifty fifty still need a lot to prove with their comeback. (They're desperately need branding consultant) but Cupid and their first mini album had already impress me a lot.
Three, I'm think it's not necessary for Newjeans stan to throwing a rock to them, Newjeans still being most envied 4th gen girl group in Korea.
I think coming from small agency affects people's familiarity about them. I'm not an avid K-pop fan but from what I know most KPop fans are instantly like any group that debuted from mega agency.
In 2021 weeekly's after school also went viral internationally on spotify and youtube pulling 150m+ streams and views. But we all know what is the condition of weeekly today.
Fifty Fifty is just going to end up pretty much the same, cupid will go viral for a while, people will listen and talk about them but after sometime everyone will just move on to new viral things and fifty fifty will be left behind in nugudom
They're really need a strong comeback, upgrade their content and don't messing up. For me they're have such a good capital than most nugu to waving around the market.
After its glaring successes in the early stage of the Pacific War, the Japanese high command contemplated two strategies.
Onestrategy was to go around Ceylon, go to the Red Sea and close the Suez Canal, allowing Rommel to enter Palestine and then Middle East and denying UK and USSR the oilfields in Iran and Caucasus.
The other one, the actual strategy taken, was to have a showdown with the US Navy, which ended up like this.

(Hiryu had perhaps the best Japanese naval commander of all, Yamaguchi Tamon, who chose to go down with the ship (since Tamon was so valuable the Minister of the Navy allowed him to escape, unlike all other Japanese commanders) since he realized the war against USA was unwinnable at that point.)

NewJeans' successes in its first 5 months are so huge, it doesn't really have to be repeated here.
But that will probably create a new dilemma on Min Heejin's part.
She would probably have planned to conquer K-O-R-E-A in this year and maybe venture to other countries in 2024, but its success is too big for her to ignore now.
A lot of problems with KPop companies arise from the fact that its execs are too rigid, unable to deal with changing situations, which is why Lee Jieun, who owned her company 2020-2022 and had more or less a free hand over when she promoted, constantly defeated one KPop act after another and another.
It is likely that NewJeans has one more promo in Korea, although when, no one but Min Heejin knows.
She has two choices now -
The original plan would probably a comeback in September, to polish off IU and all other K-O-R-E-A-N competition, win all the grand prizes and land with a huge thunder in the West by 2024.
However, as we all know, who knows whether some new star will be discovered, like Billie Eilish or Olivia Rodrigo, this year to rob any chances NewJeans might have in the West?
There is certainly a lot of interest on NewJeans in the West, and having two members who can speak English by heart is a huge advantage its competitors do not have .
If the route to promote in the West earlier is taken, they will release their next album in May or June an advance to the West in around Sep - Oct of this year.
That will probably give a second chance to IU and her allies, but with the huge Western market in her grasp Min Heejin might allow IU to live, since a Western Success means Ador can deal with Edam in a future date.
But some are indeed showing their concern that going to the West without a firm K-O-R-E-A-N base will make it weaker from domestic attacks.
Again, the inability of KPop acts to abandon K-O-R-E-A altogether leads to confusing a lot of tactics. If they didn't have to worry about K-O-R-E-A none of these would be relevant.
Giving a respite to Lee Jieun might actually revive her. It is possible that she will end the relationship with Jongsuk, like what she did to Kiha after the Moon Lovers debacle, forego the 2023 promotion and engage NewJeans in a decisive showdown in early 2024, since if NewJeans goes to the West later this year Lee JIeun would not be avoiding them and would have enough time to regain her influence to force a decision. The very fact that NewJeans has silenced all of other 4th Gen rivals does also help Lee Jieun since now everyone has kind of agreed that only Lee Jieun has a shot against NewJeans.
Min Heejin will probably take all these variables into consideration. Given the experience of BTS, who forgot to finish off IU and lost K-O-R-E-A to her, which became the chief source of its end , Min Heejin will probably think twice before going to the West without finishing her greatest adversary, Lee Jieun, who defeated all of the acts Min Heejin was involved in SM, so Min Heejin will probably feel a personal rivalry to Lee Jieun which will probably influence Min's decision process.

First, Japan did not choose go south strategy with the intentional to facing US Navy force in Pacific. IJA had prefers to secure oilfields in South East Asia especially Nederland indies to fully support their China campaign. Hitler had never (silly of him) pressed his Japan ally to cooperate in cutting off Allies manouvre in Africa theatre, nor to apply pressure on USSR due of non aggression pact post Khalkin Gol battle.
Second, This is may still raw hypothesis, but international K-fans always tend to validate some performers after they're doing very well in Korea themselves. For me Newjeans is the most envied 4th gen GG after landing upon landing hefty luxury brand deals and got recognized by fortune 50 company. But they must strike IVE position decisively and conquer Korea for the sake of HYBE and Min Jin Hee to justify her insanity
People not realizing that its "Cupid" the song that's popular, not the group.
Majority of the people- even though they're only 4 members, dont even know their name, which company they are in, and can't even name 10 things they like about the girls....im sure a few people on here will use Google to comment about them, to try to prove they know them lmao, I can see it already
But anyway, just by looking at the sales, its clear the social media hype at the end....is just hype.
And the monthly listeners going up is because "Cupid" is being added to playlist and is being streamed, not cuz a bunch of people are listening to every single song Fifty has.

Also it looks to me, that majority of people are scared of seriously stanning them, since they don't come from a big company and are nugu.
Which I understand, cuz most people usually like the benefits of stanning popular groups, and one of the main things is "bragging rights", which is why we get "success stanning"...and sadly thats what's happening with FiftyFifty.
I already know once FiftyFifty make their comeback, and it doesnt do as good as "Cupid" did, people gonna drop them and move on fast asf.
Cuz again, they need a group to brag about and compare others to...if Fifty not giving them those results, then they see no point in giving them attention anymore.
(also im gonna need these dirty sausage riding kpop stans to stop disrespecting BTS come up story, and comparing it to others. plus BTS actually made it big, they didnt just blow up with one or two songs and become forgotten later.)
