tbh they seem to be mimicking similar trajectories, by this time in aespa's career RV only really had OOTN being an underperformance which you could say was their 'Girls'
aespa has the slight edge because they have a much bigger fandom by far

How many times y'all gonna make this thread
How is it shocking when everybody is checking them out because of BP & they have a huge SEA fanbase, they're probably at the same level of hype, if not, more than NewJeans
The Spotify numbers are probably gonna be great too, the test is longevity and how it will do compared to other 4th Gen comebacks/debuts in the long run. I feel like they will do great in SEA but the rest of the world is a toss up
Last time I check they had same amount of streams on Melon. Digital index is a weird and has always been, plus you can't track it if the song isn't in top100. I'll never trust that metric over actual streams.
And the last person whose opinion I'd consider when it comes to TwicexBP is a loser like yourself.
Streams that can easily be manipulated by fandoms...okay
Literally tried to be objective and you're still mad whatkfdhgfdhe
The real question you guys should be asking is that this debut took so long? Like this is the song they actually took so long to prepare for
This
We really waited nearly a year for this lazy female Treasure'd mess, at least with BP the long wait was worth it and their debut was actually memorable
They should've just snatched up KOL or XG or something
It was biggest but not "by far"
Dalla Dalla is at around 900m digital points last time I checked while other songs like KTL and Fancy are only around like 400m-500m so yeah it is "by far"
That entire year idol groups were underperforming besides that and BTS, it wasn't until Psycho at the end of the year that things turned around
I'd say overall it's a toss-up, sort of the transition period where BP started gaining crazy popularity and Twice were nearing the end of their huge reign
It's like a Teddy song without any of the stuff that made Teddy's stuff good. Like a female Treasure tbh. Their ages especially prevent them from really pulling off this savage/badass conept unlike BP/2NE1, something brigther or more teen crush leaning would've suited them alot better.
I liked the rap, YG never fails with that, but that's it really. Kinda giving BlackPink dupe, again without any of the stuff that made them interesting. This will probably smash because everyone's seated for BP successors but if YG wants them to compete with the likes of NewJeans in the long run they've got to up their game.
It's interesting cause Karina also leads massively with fancam views as well, I think she's just generally really popular with non-stans hence the bigger following
That crown could've gone to Winter during BM-Savage but she's kinda doesn't really have a personality or presence as engaging as Karina's which was why I suspect the latter eventually surpassed her after Girls
Yeah this might be their least cohesive mini along with Girls. Drama is god-tier, Don't Blink is excellent, Trick or Trick is alright, the rest I barely played more than once. Better Things, Hot Air Balloon & YOLO especially seems out of place on an album like this and it would've been better if it had more hard-hitting songs like with Savage EP
Tbh would've made more sense if this & MY WORLD were combined into a full album or something
Interesting how the opposite seems to be happening for aespa and they're doing kinda better on Spotify & worse on Melon Rising in streams on a Saturday is a great sign....now for Melon I guess Monday updates will be the true test, I'm not really expecting anything outstanding but given the international reception, let's see
I mean wbk girl groups mostly rely on casual fans when it comes to streams & album sales aren't the best indicator of a strong fanbase now, that's not any different for most of the GGs nominated. TWICE & BP (or Jisoo in this case) took years to build up a large dedicated voting fanbase compared to these newer groups that have been out for less than like 4 years
They should just make a separate category like they did for afrobeats this year imo
They probably would've been the first 4th gen GG to hit 1M and could probably pull a decent tour. They weren't very popular internationally though (doubt it would've improved) and in Korea their charting was very fandom-fueled for the most part and had experienced a decline following Fiesta so, basically end up being the boy group of girl groups
I thought this was Savage level at first, then thought it would rank below Girls/Savage....but for the entire day 'I'm the dramamamama' has been stuck in my head and the production is insane. I'll go with Blop but I'm leaning towards bop tbh, they always do experimental right
The MV is amazing and I'll the callbacks to older films, they're doing Y2K in a unique and interesting way compared to every other company's take on it
The song was very samey and not memorable, but at the same time I understand trying to come back safe seeing how her reputation is still a bit shaky. It's like when RV came back with Queendom after Irene's scandal, the song was pretty bad for their standards but they needed a safe song to re-introduce themselves to the GP again after all that had happened.
Yeah she was mostly known for that sexy aura during GIDLE but with everything that happened with the bullying mess undoubtedly affecting her mentally I'm not sure if we'll ever get that sexy confident Soojin back again.
Did they even submit?
I feel like performance on charts and general Koreans reaction to the song is a better indicator of whether or not she's 'cancelled'
