I agree with the user above though that SM has lost all original ideas after LSM left. aespa's main selling point was their KWANGYA stuff & unique instrumentals and they both left with the departure of LSM & YYJ. Even if the concept was inspired by K/DA or the like he at least added his own unique spin with SMCU and those episodes, but as much as I love songs like Spicy & Better Things, they could go to any group with great vocals realistically. Drama was a return to form but the album itself is a bit meh and not cohesive.

RIIZE's concept is just 'male New Jeans', once people move on from NJ or NJ tries a different concept it's gonna be over for them. No creativity or originality whatsoever.

I agree with OMG, it felt like they would end up being the Apink of 3rd gen but it seems like they couldn't sustain their popularity with the long breaks between comebacks, RBW buying WM and their 2nd most popular member Jiho leaving. So they ended up being a fad of the pandemic mostly.

It's an overall trend for less emphasis to be put on vocals in the music industry, not just in KPOP

More companies are putting more emphasis on dancing or 'being an all-rounder' or even on not having any particular outstanding talent. Success is all about marketing & the music more than the talent

It was over for them as soon as that Seungri scandal came to light. We were all saying BP activities were keeping them on life support, now that they're essentially disbanded and gone their separate ways it's over. Treasure flop, iKON flop and gone, BigBang gone, BP gone, Winner mostly flopping, BaeMon mostly flopping & bringing negative press. They're really lucky to have AKMU still charting decently cause all signs are pointing to them being a slightly more successful DSP

I'm actually really excited to see what's in store for their careers from here on out now that they don't have YG dragging them down
