Yeah linking them with YG (the man) with his criminal activity and history seems like a really bad move on YG (the company)'s part

It's an overall trend for less emphasis to be put on vocals in the music industry, not just in KPOP
More companies are putting more emphasis on dancing or 'being an all-rounder' or even on not having any particular outstanding talent. Success is all about marketing & the music more than the talent

It was over for them as soon as that Seungri scandal came to light. We were all saying BP activities were keeping them on life support, now that they're essentially disbanded and gone their separate ways it's over. Treasure flop, iKON flop and gone, BigBang gone, BP gone, Winner mostly flopping, BaeMon mostly flopping & bringing negative press. They're really lucky to have AKMU still charting decently cause all signs are pointing to them being a slightly more successful DSP

I'm actually really excited to see what's in store for their careers from here on out now that they don't have YG dragging them down

Erm aespa have already done Tokyo Dome as a barely 3 year old group and that is not even their strongest market, I'm not sure why some are so quick to count 4th gen out. Who knows what the likes of NewJeans who are far bigger could pull off
Records are meant to be to be broken, it will take time just like it took time for TWICE/BP to get to where they are now

Going so hard for iKON out of all groups is crazy

Still nowhere near people getting mad at Wonyoung for eating a pizza slice

it wasn't the drug allegations, he could have come back from that...it was the fact that it was revealed that he was a VIP client at a high end room saloon. Nothing is worse than shame in Korean society.
Is there any source for this?
Rest in peace, really tragic that all that has led to this

High cumulative numbers indicates longevity, I'd rather have that than having a song with a high peak just for no one to check it out after 4 months

I'm not big on charts or stuff like that, so I'll just go with my personal opinion as a former MOA. HYBE is very clueless with TXT. Their sound has been changing back to back too quickly with every comeback. Not to say their comebacks are 'bad', individually I like those tracks, but as a whole, they have no unique sound. Hybe could have really stuck with their rock/emo concept and gone further with it, which would make them stand out and be unique, but they decided to go back and give them "Chasing That Feeling" and "Sugar Rush Ride" It's too confusing for non-fans imo.
I think they're kind of like a male Red Velvet. Not very consistent when it comes to concepts & sounds which leads to non-fans only checking in occasionally, but they still have a strong enough following to keep them in the top3 4th gen BGs discussion (or 3rd gen GGs for RV). On the other hand a group like SKZ stay true to their image more which leads to louder/more organized fans etc
Sugar Rush Ride actually had great reception (with me included) and if iirc was very close to entering the Hot100 at some point so I doubt that was the problem, on the other hand Chasing That Feeling is very meh. It's all dependent on various factors imo

Because you actually went after straight men and talked about how they are "comparing" female idol visuals and other made up bullshit nobody here ever done that, most straight men here don't even discuss visuals and spend their time examining charts and sales. On the other hand this thread specifically talks about non straight men and their mean girl complex. There is a huge difference between this and yours.
There was nothing about straight men in the OP, it was a general observation but if the shoe fits.....

I remember making a thread about how male GG stans are the most toxic, unsurprisingly it was met with some backlash
Anyway all men are trash

Yeah it's ITZY. There always seems to be a double standard with them, when they mature it's "they need to go back to their old sound" but when they go back to their old sound it's "they need to mature"
It doesn't help that they're an easy target since they aren't exactly doing well on charts
-
I'm not a stan for obvious reasons (their age mostly) but in terms of music, creative direction and styling I consider them to be the most interesting GG in recent yrs along with aespa

Every year these predictions end up being fake and every year people who don't know any better believe them
