That's why there's nothing really happening...

But wasn't that focus (on Bang) momentary? I didn't really feel it much during streaming (it was only when it was announced - maybe for a week before the MV?). Otherwise, I see a lot complaints on Twitter around the MV, and also from Carats around me. Most were unenthusiastic about the quality of this comeback. They told me how there was nothing quite interesting about it (and I guess maybe the track for others) that would make them rewatch it. So it really depends on which aspect of the fandom we're looking at. There's some that's unsatisfied about the music production, some for the artistic development in the MV, etc (some maybe caught up in the Bang factor, tho I don't think that's really a reason to slowing down our streams). It's really hard to tell (and that's why I gave my personal opinion and venture into the 'venting culture' of what I thought might be a cause).

Also, (you're right about that) the ads part might be it. There were a circulation of it but I'm not sure how long it stayed or lasted. I saw a couple in the first week while streaming but I'm not sure after (like whether it's still going or not. We won a poll on IdolChamp for MV ads tho! Hopefully they'll boost up some of the views). L&R did have a buzz around that *ahem* situation but without it, the views were pretty high before that even issue occurred. Most of the views (in the first week) was excitement (?) since there was an ambiguous period of no promo Seventeen, no merch, Coups and also Seventeen's entrance to HYBE. Alot of the viewers (followers from the HYBE channel) checked them out, thinking that they were a new boy group under the label. Also, prior to L&R, they had MYMY to open up the era and reveal a snippet of the concept Seventeen was coming through. So we really got to see how they've been doing over the several months of 'emptiness' from the last cb and Henggarae cb. But what I liked about that era was due to the heaviness or fullness of that cb. I can't explain it but there was a 'good' feel (eventho it did invite the bad feels in the latter part of the promo).

Although Your Choice had a similar 'hiatus' (I only called it that because it's similar so don't get me wrong) but between the last cb was the insane amount of merch coming out and special projects. It felt like we were anticipating something HUGE was coming. Then the animation teaser (with Heaven's Cloud snippet) came out. I could see alot of random people criticising the quality since Pledis rushed the animator to complete it in a week or two (unfortunately)...everyone felt quite uneasy but regardless, it was cute and Woozi's part was really refreshing. A lot of people must have been thinking that that would be the title track. And here's where things joined the beginning of my comment. But I think we shouldn't blame the 'Asian fanbase' (due to the Bang issue you mentioned) - it should be applicable to the whole fanbase because we're all in it together. I see every Carat talking about it regardless of whether they're from an Asian country or not - everyone was talking about it.

Sorry if this didn't respond to your comment. I was just thinking on my own about the things that have already happened prior to this cb. What's done is done *sigh* I can only talk about it so I'm choosing to do so here for the fun of it. Nothing serious. I think I feel like this because I've been streaming since the beginning of RTL release on Youtube and Genie...so my brain's about to skip to the grave with the view counts. You're probably still streaming so you'll get what I mean haha. (Once again, sorry if this offends you or anyone who reads this looooooonnng comment - it's just my opinion.)

I think the reason why the MV doesn't have a lot of views is due to the MV lacking storyline. There's things going on but nothing's really happening if you know what I mean. It's pretty but...there's smth missing. (It's a subjective thing so its just me venting out haha). When the chorus comes in, they cut in and out of those shots. It's getting exciting! But they suddenly switch to a close-up of the member looking somewhere, which kinds of stalls the moment for that split second. And that second really makes me feel like the timing is off. ALSO WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ORANGE BALL SUPPOSED TO BE BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE THE ABSTRACTNESS OF LOVE IN THAT FORM CAN IT.......sry that just snapped in me lol. Also the rain scene. Yeah it was cool...but we never get a close-up shot of the member's faces and it was raining so hard that you can't even see ANYTHING or DETAILS. They should cut in-between to a close-up...in the rain...(after watching Dispatch's behind for RTL...there were so many good moments in that rain scene and they looked so good...) In the end, it felt like the director didn't know how to handle that amount of people... I was expecting some impressive feels since the director shoots for YG artists and their MVs are usually really good...

I'm just praying for a good quality MV next. PLEASE PLEDIS OR HYBE. PLEASE GIVE SVT AN IMPRESSIVE MV AND STOP PUTTING THEIR BUDGET THROUGH THOSE MERCH AND FOCUS ON THE ACTUAL CB THAT WILL GIVE YOU MORE MONEY THAN THE OVERALL 'MINI' MERCH YOU PUT OUT. :peperain: :pepe-life-support: :pepefacepalm:

    Woah, is it that bad?

    For real :pepe-sad:

Also, this time...SVT had almost zero promo (except AmaSat and that eating show (tho they weren't promoting their cb, just eating spaghetti, and probably smth else I can't remember) and no variety shows dedicated for RTL in Korea (meaning that most of the public had no idea that SVT even had a cb)...with the fandom being not...so strong in streaming...we really hanged onto the song as best as possible. But I guess they took a nice rest since they also went into quarantine mode just a day after their cb.

For this comeback, most of the promos were dedicated to the western market.

I just hope the next MV would be better than RTL. I'm not exactly a fan of the MV in comparison to their stuff with Fallin' Flower/DWC/L&R. AND SOLO TEASERS. SVT hasn't had any solo teasers since DWC in 2017. That was such an exciting period with all those numbers and constellations, etc. I guess their budget went into the solo projects...?

Maybe the next album? (hahah sounds hopeful) It might be a full album this time. They haven't had one since 2019 with An Ode.

But Pledis and HYBE keeps milking the fandom with so many merch. There was water bottles...wrist bands...bittersweet empty tins...1-2 sticker sheets...charms...anniversary ring necklace...hoshi spider special photobook...hoshi svt tapes photobook (1/13 - there's 12 more photobooks of other members that has yet to be revealed)...incomplete merch + incomplete dvd sets + photobooks...1843787 solo magazine shoots...caratland merch...DICON photobooks (with 13 different covers I think) it doesn't seem alot but some of the merch just keeps being pumping out for no reason (like the water bottles...). Then we got the japanese cb with 5-6 versions...before the kr cb...god they really sucked the fandom dry. With some of them happening before the RTL cb...I just can't help but think...what are the companies thinking?

I'm worried that there's gonna be more solo merch (after some digital singles) before the next cb with other newfound products from HYBE. I have a feeling that there's gonna be a jp cb either before or after the kr cb (hopefully that does not happen lol but if it does...after would be better haha). It'll be good to give us a break for the merch department lolololol.

Carats are crazy. We were having a crisis about album sales since there was no announcement about preorders, and we clowned ourselves: WHO IS BUYING??? :pepe-joy:

1M is definitely achievable. They just need around 118K to achieve that, and we'll be getting quadruple million sellers. The Japan fanbase, alone, can buy up to 300K - 400K albums. Also just a couple of days ago, Shopee released online fan signs for MY/SG/PH/ID...so it'll probably rise again in sales. AND today, Pledis announced that there's gonna be special photo cards. You can obtain those photo cards by purchasing offline at stores in Korea (I'm guessing?)...it's gonna be craaaazzzyyyyy.

But I'd have to say that 1.5M is definitely more realistic (to not expect too much...BUT I do hope we'll surpass that).

damn ktown rlly screwed up during henggarae, carats said no more shit quality albums even with lower prices...but it's true, my friend bought 5 albums during henggarae and they came bended and stuff, she was rlly mad...i think more will consider weverse shop bc of the benefits(offline fansign, extras), im actually stuck at where to buy the albums lol, i don't need the offline fansign benefit but so far i heard that weverse shop delivers the albums just fine but the shipping is crazy expensive...might just join a GO..

Oh no wonder! I didn't realise Ktown4U had those kinds of issues. My friend told me that ARMYies (?) were advising Carats to just buy the albums on Weverse and forget about Ktown4U. So that's why...thanks for the update!

Also they just released another super short snippet of the teaser (after Adore U, Mansae and Pretty U). It sounds like a sweet track :pepelove1: It'll be hilarious if they released a heavy dubstep EDM track instead :pepe-joy:

    Seventeen + pastels = perfection

The concept looks great. Just wish they hadn’t gone so heavy with the skin edit. It’s extreme even for being a Kpop video. Guess it’s because it’s supposed to be “dream-like” so they made everything sorta fuzzy but still... I wish they would let our boys look more natural.

It's most probably due to the director's palette and style. Pledis might've thought that that type of style would suit the dream-like concept they're going for. The director has produced: Let's not fall in love, MY TYPE, Sober, WYD, Carnival, Stay, Solo, On The Ground, etc. (mainly for YG artists) that have the same filter and mood (including the skin edit). But overall, the concept trailer is aesthetic with limited amount of props, pieces of text and that magical fallin' flowerified bus :pepelove1: . But natural or not, I actually don't mind the filter - it does give a paler effect with a smooth finish (but it's not a bad thing!) because we know what they look like in other settings so instead this imagery introduces something new for the era (if you think about this on the positive side haha). But instead of skin edits, I'm wondering about the album design and graphics they're gonna have :pepestare: lol.

Anyways, the sales index (not equaling to actual sales but "having a larger quantity is better" from what I've heard) has surpassed 1M+ albums on Yes24. Otherwise, Ktown4U sales (right now) is at 146,105...much lesser than I thought. I guess everyone moved to Weverse and the other platforms...

    Pledis, also: :peperich:

    3rd day of pre-orders

    110K on ktown4u :pepe-toast:

since 2018? and yet they keep giving us those cheap ass packaging. Im telling you Svt albums packaging and designs peaked in Teen,Age era, after that it been downhill while its still good.

    So true :pepe-sad:

I miss the DWC/Al1 packaging. It was simple (just a book form) but they were really aesthetic in colour and design. Now we're getting albums where we have to make ourselves lmao (not complaining; its creative but funny).

SVT is really coming for Carats with the self-producing title :peperain:

They’ve only had two repackages in their entire career if I am not wrong. One in 2016, and then another in 2018.

They usually call it 'special albums' now. Semicolon and Director's Cut was one. They haven't done a 'repackage' since Aju Nice...which is interesting? I'm not even sure why they stopped. I guess they thought it was better to put out a whole new album (with something special haha) and market it...since (usually) repackages don't sell that well. When it sounds something new, we tend to 'go all out' in buying.
