Same reason why fans brag about physical sales
About popularity in japan bc it brings more money
About number of cfs for group and members
Etc etc
Bc it’s a competition of who stan the most successful and most desirable idols
Doesn't that make sense though? Music consumption is the earning of musicians. Brand endorsements should be treated as a consequence of the success nor reason.

Do you waste your valuable time ( that you could use to achieve something important ) on akp making this type of threads as an overcompensation to your miserable life?
whatever your answer is , that's the answer to this thread
No sweetheart. This is a forum people interact here. This topic is surely on point. I have a degree in physics, sometimes my work load stretches up to 16 hours a day. This is a way for me to lighten up my mood. I am sure you know who are the most active users here and who aren't. I am sure an user from 2019 with mere 120 posts is not here for overcompensation.
Edit- oh see what you are 10x times more active here than me.

i prefer this
Idols are here to make people happy and make them forget about the fucked up things of life
so they don't have to talk about politics, and in contrary i prefer when they don't do it
I am opposite. I despise how escapist, conservative and rigid kpop is and how fans see it as a sort of removed entity. Something that makes them feel special. I want celebrities to be responsible and in touch with reality and not larger than life.

They are extremely apolitical. I remember Lisa got some flak from her own countrymen for not speaking up during a national issue where every other Thai idol was speaking up (BamBam, Sorn, Nickhun etc.)
Personally I think the optics are bad. They are not obliged to be activists but we live in a world where celebrities are expected to take stances on political and social events globally and domestically. Asian hate is not a political issue btw and is something that directly affects them. I wonder if taking such stances go against the image their company wants to portray for them. But I would say we are past the age where those type of celebrities were lauded.

Sure there are fans who brag about this and make it seem like it's their achievement, but not all fans are like that.
There are fans who are genuinely happy that these brand endorsements happen, because it shows that their faves are actually getting recognised to the extent that popular brands are wanting them to do endorsements. Not exactly to brag, but more of like feeling genuinely happy that after so long their faves are finally getting to where they want.
But of course, if those fans be like "HAHA LOOK MY FAVES GOT THIS GOT THAT NOW SHOVE UP THAT UP YOUR DIRTY ANTI BITCH ASS HERE IS YOUR KARMA WE STAY WINNING YOU CONTINUE WHINING BISH" then yeah I don't get it because it's not your achievement to brag about
Yeah I understand those people who are genuinely happy about their faves doing good. But then there are people who go like "my fave endorses celine yours is a customer" and I just think... oh my god where is the drag in this? The homeless person calling another homeless person a broke ass loser saying just became rich person calling another rich person a privileged ass fool. I don't understand those fans? Like I am glad my faves, who are poc in this harsh world, are doing well and successful but...this?

Like these are rich people endorsing rich items which only rich people can buy and here are kpop fans bragging about it like an achievement as if it just don't show you that you are poor? I thought the motto was eat the rich, pro-socialism, progressivism, anti capitalism and help the poor?
I understand celebrities endorsing luxury brands. They live that lifestyle and are needed to spend a certain amount of money to be eligible for some perks like black cards etc. Only endorsing low end brands will be tokenism. But I don't get why fans think that's an achievement? These celebrities are getting paid/rented these clothes for a show life, a life which you will never lead. Is this because kpop fans generally live through their idols and this is the only way they can live through some of their luxury fantasies?

They are dreamers. They are ambitious. And very smart. They want success like every artist does. Ofcourse they want it. It's right there in their lyrics. Their entire career they have made songs about dreaming big. To say that an artist doesn't want success is a myopic perspective. It's just that they have never taken for granted what they were given, made incredibily smart decisions and tried to remain grounded. You reach a point when you are at the top and then you realize how lonely it can get. They have struggled with that feeling. They still do and will forever do. There will come a time when they will come down from that high and that will bring a different kind of feeling. I have watched their tour documentaries and all these feelings they have expressed. Sometimes when work feels like work, when burn outs happen, sometimes when the rush is so high they want to conquer the world or when they just think about everything that's happening around them. They like to brag about their achievements. Humbly so but they do and yes they have a pettiness too yet they have always exhibited that in a classy manner. I think that's amazing.

How's the international and online reception of this show? TV ratings are definitely not good but what about online?

I mean we're in 2021, charting on Melon is no longer based off of streams. It's purely UL based, meaning it's not boosted by fandoms. So people can't use that argument anymore.
And with the official Melon numbers out, Spring Day has 7M ULs in total. That's in the TTN, EDEM range, no one considers the latter 2 songs to be fandom-fueled. That is too big of a number to be purely fandom-driven.
The only dude who has a fandom size close to BTS' in Korea is Lim Youngwoong(or a fandom as dedicated as K-ARMYs I guess), and his songs are charting in the lower half of Melon. Should say enough tbh, if BTS' songs were really fandom-fueled, Dynamite wouldn't have been one of the biggest songs last year. We'd be seeing tragic Melon charting like LYW.
It's really not hard to accept that BTS are just the biggest KPOP group there right now.
Been talking to some korean friends of mine and they say Lim Young Woong is mostly popular among the older generation (the ajuhmmas) and doesn't make any noise among the 10s, 20s and 30s. Even DKDKTV said this. You can see this from his high downloads and sales. His fandom is dedicated in downloading and voting.

There is no competition to BTS when it comes to touring. Even big western artists fail there. TVXQ were huge at their peak in Japan. Even to this day TVXQ's touring brought the most money to SM, yes even at the height of EXO's fame. Big Bang toured big in korea and japan and G-Dragon was one of the very few kpop artists who played 10K+ capacity in the north america. Super Junior's tours make more money than SM's younger groups do.
In girl groups, only SNSD's name comes forward in touring power.

Boy groups. Outside of SNSD no girl group has ever had a big touring power.
