Yup. According to speculations. He even used to fight with other fandoms.

This is some 2016 level trolling.

In South Korea it may have to fight Spring Day. Globally yes, it is the biggest song by a Korean artist not named Psy.
Spring Day indeed but I won't be surprised if it does surpass it someday in ULs.

This is song is the biggest song of 3rd generation and I am ready to take any counter arguments. I claim to win against every single of them.

Black artists prform at the superbowl all the time lol
People tend to look passed that shit when you have 100 million people watching you
Hmm I am still wary I won't lie. I know they want to perform there and I will always support their decisions but sports fans are horrendous through and through. BTS performing at Super Bowl would be a massive breakthrough.

I don't get it are encore stages not just performances? What kind of stages have I been watching?

It's grim for idols especially boy groups but the overall chart is just... slow and boring to look at. I acknowledge it reflects the hits of the moment quite accurately considering it is primarily based on ULs. But as a chart watcher I can't help but feel the slowdown. I also acknowledge it's mostly big artists like BTS and IU can say they are guaranteed a spot there 100% and I think that makes sense considering the chart is a measure of popularity.

That would be iconic but I am really really weary wary of the exposure to white republican america on such a big scale.

I am an army. If you think this is shade then so be it.
Edit:- I am a fan of K-rnb, BTS and Red Velvet mostly. I made this thread not as shade but for general discussions because I am interested in the psychology of fans aka fan studies.

I think a lot of kpopies need Jesus. At the end of the day, as much as I simp over my faves, I know where to draw the line. Remembering statistics should be in school and not in kpop.
Anyways, As for the thread topic, I love seeing my faves look pretty. I also love fashion and beauty so I love seeing my faves looking so glam and such.
Jesus is where the salvation is. You are absolutely correct.

Kpop is like that because kpop fans want it like that. There many been many times that when an artist releases a slower or more serious song, even fans will be like 'but where's my bop?' because a lot of them think kpop like a real doll play and they are here just for fun not deep stuff.
Lyrics or serious content discussions have been ridiculed and mocked. 'Who cares about lyrics, it's not my language.'
Even Korean fans care for just escapism. I was intrigued by the possibility of the genre moving away from these type of fans. Do you think it's possible?

Speak for yourself here there are A LOT of kpop songs with deep lyricism

But how is the shallow vapidness of kpop artists any different than the vapidness of pop artists in any other country? You can't tell me that US pop doesn't have its fair share of hollow bland songs. Not why you expected Korea to be different
US pop artists are manufactured puppet dolls who aim for hit songs with every business move of theirs. It's a show life there.
Also I don't expect "Korea" to be different. I am talking about idols. Otherwise my opening line wouldn't be about the perception of idol music in Korea itself. I listen to K-r&b. Korean artists are extremely talented. I am talking about a very particular one specific genre/industry.

Idol music is an escapist genre and everyone acknowledges it. Most kpop is hyper focused on visuals and even fans do not care for music. The stigma in korea against idols is so bad a lot of people scoff at the ideal that an idol is even a "real musician".
And it's not false to say that idol music does indeed lack the capability to connect emotionally with the audience. Most songs are supposed to be fun pop songs with some ballads thrown in here and there (something which I call elevator music).
My opinion is that it is because of a factor deeply engraved in the routine based idol training system. I was recently listening to an idol group quite known for their vocal prowess in the kpop circles and the song felt like a sucker punch of hollow disconnection and indifference. The artist was singing about love, obviously, in what you would say quite impassioned manner, the lyrics suggesting a forceful approach to the said love even. But it was just that...a normal pop song which you can hear on the radio and go about your own way without being affected deeply.
Do you guys think it is the routine based nature of idol music responsible for this and the conservative nature of it or is it the hyper corporatisation?
Edit:- Before anyone makes this to be a hit against Korean music in general, like kpop fans generally do, read back to my opening line. I am talking about the perception of idol music in korea itself. The same argument can be used for American pop stars for example but there I expect the answer to be a bit different given the geographical and culture context.

It’s east Asia fandom culture imo that affected international fans. They care about the idol career as a whole so any achievement is celebrated related to music or not.. it’s not just idols look at the trot singer I forgot his name, e has a fandom of mainly older women who behave exactly like an idol fandom. Organize streaming, watch his shows for rating, buy products he endorses etc.. the fandom culture is so intense I dont see something like it from western artists fans or fans of my country’s celebs
Parasocial investment and a marketing of access you make a very solid point.
Edit- Also western musicians rarely do fashion endorsements. Actors do but musicians? Nah. Taylor Swift endorses stuff like Diet Coke etc. Luxury CF deals for singers is a very kpop thing. I think Ariana Grande has only ever endorsed Givenchy in her entire career.

I live in Asia so yup
