Changed the title of the thread from “[POLL] Queendom dance units” to “[POLL] Queendom dance units!!”.
  • Honestly, I was kind of disappointed by the dance aspects of the performances.

Knowing this was supposed to be a dance performance, and knowing they collabed with the SWF people, I expected more.

I thought the choreo would be more hard hitting and intricate. I think Purr delivered somewhat in the hard hitting aspect, but it still left me empty. Like, it wasn't that entertaining to watch. There wasn't even any dance breaks or anything. I was expecting more fun choreo per ITZY/LOONA/NMIXX. I was impressed by Umji and Dayeon here though in terms of performance. Dayeon because she's just...good, and Umji because I just was not expecting that of her. She reminded me of Yeji a little.

Ka-boom overall was my favorite song, but the dancing was neither intricate nor hard hitting. Seemed more like simple idol dancing. Like, it did not leave me wanting more, and I do not feel like I really got the impression that any one of them were GREAT dancers.

I think the LOONA/BG unit came the closest to actually understanding the assignment. The song was simple and subtle and the choreo was not super big, but it was still strong. And I think it really gave me a sense that these women can DANCE. Like the control over their body. The beautiful lines when they stretched their full length. How smoothly they turned and eased into each move. Yves for one, killed it. She owned the whole stage during her solo. My eyes were fully on her.

So yes, I think this is probably the first time I have been disappointed by Queendom despite what everyone else has been saying. The stand out performers for me were Umji, Dayeon, Hyolyn, and Yves.

My favorite performance because of the song was Ka-boom, but my favorite DANCE performance was the LOONA/BG unit. So I chose them.

  • Tell Me Now

Loona and Eunji are so far ahead of the other two it isn't even funny. All the stages were good but they were in a league of their own. Not only did the members do a great job but it was also by far the best choreography and concept. Not much more to say.

    ranking within the unit:

    1. Olivia Hybe (Her intro!!)

    2. Heejin

    3. Eunji/Yves

    4. Choerry

For 2nd place it's a tie for now:

    KA-BOOM

WJSN and Hyolyn's performance was very eye-catching. They had put the most effort into their stage and concept. They moved around a lot, utilizing the stage, and used the most props and special effects. That said the actual dancing wasn't that interesting. The members all had individual parts that stood out but during the group dance parts, especially the chorus, the choreography lost impact.

    ranking within the unit:

    1. Hyolyn

    2. Eunseo

    3. Yeoreum

    Purr

Viviz and Kep1er were the worst at utilizing the stage out of the three units and their concept didn't stand out as much. Overall the performance felt a little plain after watching the other two. But the dance was fun and the members did a good job making it entertaining (Umji wasn't as good as the others but you could tell that she had worked hard). Focusing on the dancing and choreography I definitely enjoyed this more than Ka-boom.

    ranking within unit:

    1. Hikaru

    2. Sinb/Dayeon

    3. Xiaoting

    4. Umji

  • I'll be forever baffled by why they weren't fighting to do Tell Me Now. It was clearly the best choreography and unless they had zero, ZERO, confidence with the concept they should all have picked it. It was the obvious winner from the start. Loona and Eunji were probably the two that fit the concept the best but Viviz or WJSN would have suited it too and I don't get why they choose to do a hiphop concept instead.

I don't think I have seen that performance. I'll have to go check it out.

Edit: Lmao, nvm, that's the English name of the song LOONA and Brave Girls danced to. :pepe-clown-gear::pepe-joy:
