Hello! So, I got this idea a while back and wanted to see who would be interested in doing this. Personally, I love both K-Pop and Kahoot! so I think it would be very fun. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be an akorn prize (unless someone wants to volunteer to make one for me), but I might make a small winner banner if that makes sense, which you can then put in a thread you make to announce your victory and get akorns by doing that, or put it someplace like in your signature or on your wall (but that would be optional of course).
You can participate whether you are a Blink or not. Any and all users are welcome. I chose BLACKPINK in particular because I wanted to do a well-known group that I knew a lot about and has a fair number of fans on here. I figured if I picked a smaller group, not enough people would be interested or it would be unfair to the users who didn't know the group as well. With BLACKPINK, however, I feel as if they are the type of group where even if you don't stan them, you probably know enough about them to at least attempt a Kahoot! game dedicated to them.
I would be making all the questions and answers, but I would not be playing myself (as I would be running the game instead), so it should be fair in those regards. For those of you who either:
A) Have never played Kahoot! before or you
B) Have played it before, but are curious as to how I would make it work on here
Allow me to explain how I will run things and how this will work below in the spoiler:
So, I have a Kahoot! account, and will create all of the Kahoot! questions and answers on the website and get everything set up. Just before the game starts (half an hour of fifteen minutes or something like that), I will make a thread for the game and tag people who are on the tag list for the event in it. I will then start the waiting room up. At that time, go to http://www.kahoot.it and enter in the game pin I will give you on the game thread.
Then, you will be asked to create a username. You can use either your username on here or make up a completely different one. You could even use someone else's username so, it looks like you are them, just get their permission first if you want to do that. It doesn't matter which option you do and you don't need to tell me which one you are doing, just make it appropriate. After making your name, post it in the thread, so that way, people can see which names are taken. Please do not use the same username as someone else, because then if one of you wins, I won't have any way to know who is who and who to announce as the winner.
You will also need both AllK-Pop and Kahoot! open at the same time. You can either have AllK-Pop pulled up on your phone, and have Kahoot! in a separate tab, do the same thing, but on a laptop/desktop, or have AllK-Pop pulled up on your desktop and answer the questions from your phone (or vice versa). Whatever you have access to and think will work best for you.
Once you do that, wait until the game is started, then the fun begins. After the game begins, you may notice that for most traditional games of Kahoot!, you need to see the main screen, but that will not be an option on here for many, numerous reasons. I have a solution though: I will copy and paste the questions and answers (one at a time, as we get to them) on the thread, making sure to specify which answer correlates to which color/shape. From there, pick what you believe to be the best answer on your device. Some questions may be true/false, some may have multiple correct answers (in which case, you will either select all or one of the correct answers, depending on how many options the game will let you pick for that question) or some may be worth more points than others.
Speaking of points, allow me to explain those. For each question you answer, you will get points. If you get an answer wrong or do not answer within two minutes, you will get zero points. If you get an answer correct and within the time frame, you will get points. The sooner you get the answer correct, the more points you will get. Speed is important, but if you must choose between one of the two, being accurate but slow will get you more points than being fast, but wrong. For each question, you will have two minutes to answer it, which is the most time I am allowed to give you. I will do that for all questions, simply to account for slow internet speeds (if any users struggle with those), switching between tabs (if needed in your case), deciding on an answer, time to chat with each other and so on.
After you answer, if you want to make the game more fun, you can comment how you feel about the question, and if you think you got it right or not. Your device should tell you once the two minutes are up if you got the question right or wrong and how many points you got, as well as which user is ahead of you and by how many points. After each question, I'll update the thread with the leaderboard of the top five highest scoring users (currently) and the amount of points that they have. Normally, that would be on the main screen, which you would all see in person, but I have to make accommodations given the circumstances.
If you want to play dirty or mess with other users to increase your chances of winning (without cheating), there is something you can do that should be fun. A lot of people do this in real life, but you have my permission to do it in the thread, whether you are playing or not. Find the correct answer, and then post in the thread about how it's probably the wrong answer and try to get people to not pick it. Or, alternatively, think of one of the wrong answers, and try to convince people that it is right and to pick it. It may not be fair, but I promise you, if it happens it will be hilarious to watch. Besides, that's one of the unspoken rules of Kahoot!: never trust people who shout out the answers (there is a slim chance they may be right, but more often than not, they aren't).
Once all the questions are finished, I will announce the users who won/are in the top three or five (undecided which one yet, probably depends on how many players we get) and distribute and all prizes. I know this may sound super complicated right now, but it really isn't, and it will make more sense once the game actually gets going.
As for when this will take place, for those of you interested, I will make a poll. I'll only have you pick the day of the week for now. We'll figure out the time of day later. It won't be until sometime towards the end of the week or next week though, so any non-Blinks who wish to participate will have time to study the group and so I have time to set up the questions and answers. Studying is by no means required, for either Blinks or non-Blinks, but if you would like to and it would give you something to do or help you feel more prepared, go for it. Because some people (including me) are bad at remembering exact dates, I will not focus on dates a ton, and if there is a question about a date, it will only ask for the month and year at the most.
If you are at all interested in joining, please do the following:
1) Let me know if you wish to be added to a tag list I will make for the event. This will (hopefully) help remind you to be on time, so you don't miss it.
2) Vote in the poll to let me know which day of the week works best for you.
3) Answer the following question: How many questions long do you think I should make the Kahoot!? Without giving any specific questions or answers, what types of questions would you like to see (questions about fandom memes, music, the girls, ect.) and/or how many of each kind?
I think that covers everything. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them below and I'll be more than happy to try and answer them. I hope this is fun for everyone involved. Have a great day/night!
