I mean even back then when he was going megaviral people obviously knew him,but he's not your typical idol so nobody would actually stan him like they would an idol group.

1-1.5 gen just isn't popular here. doesn't mean they weren't popular ofc

Why is that surprising lol he’s not an idol.

Tbh, he has had his day with Gangnam Style and I doubt whether he will ever be able to replicate that success again. I thought he had given up singing and he is getting on a bit now.

AKP has become more fandom-driven. In the past there were more casual listeners who liked Psy on this forum.

He's kinda... Repetitive. I mean, all the his main songs seem the same to me. Gangnam Style, Dady, Gentlemen, New Face... Even their music videos feel the same. So I don't really have high expectations for the song.

well he has been AWOL for like five years so that's like pre-revamp revamp...

I was going to check out his album( he has very good collaborators in there) even before Suga was revealed to be part of it.

The difference between him and most of our Korean-based faves is that he's not an idol. He's a Korean singer and is not in the same industry as K-POP. He's not promoted like one either.

He's had really successful releases and has been going on for a while. I'm not sure if he has a solid fanbase though.

I have seen people here downplay his popularity saying he was just a one hit wonder... And yet the same people now are hyping him because we all know why
