Watching BigBang slapping the views of Dream, Stray Kids, red Velvet and IVE is cathartic.

  • After all the shit that was spoken about them and how they were just some old group or irrelevant outside of Korea these days it's hilarious to watch them battering the views of these new gen groups. Like Love Dive can't even manage 4m views without ads and Dream aren't even coming close to Still Life.

Put some respect on their name kids.

  • I mean, they did their comeback more than 3 weeks after Stray Kids. At least wait some time to see If they will keep the stability in comparison to Maniac.

  • It’s not hard to beat 4th gen at anything

  • Inb4 all the attacks about bigbang being a criminal group

  • I mean, they did their comeback more than 3 weeks after Stray Kids. At least wait some time to see If they will keep the stability in comparison to Maniac.

Compare the views tho from YT charts, where they only count real views.

BigBang Still Life currently has all 44m in 11 days while Maniac has about 3 weeks worth of updates Stray Kids is sitting at 39m offical views.

You also take into account the respective average age's of each fandom and will quickly realize 80% of Stray Kids, Dreams and IVE's views are driven by fandom mass streaming, which is unlikely the case for Still Life.

  • since when criminal men pay for what they deserve

But Stray Kids was a physical release wasn't it? And a promoted one.

IVE fans were crowing about them beating BB at Music Bank, overlooking that promotions and physicals score big there.

Bigbang dropped one digital single, acknowledged it with a instagram post, and then went right back to respectively; their baby, their wine, their defaced Chanel bags, and their barber avoiding.

  • I don't know what people were expecting: before BTS' rise to power, Big Bang were the #1 boy group in youtube views, with only EXO as valid competition.

They've been gone for many years, this is their 1st comeback after 4-5 years.

This looks to be their goodbye song.

Add all that together, and people should have known beforehand that Bigbang would do well with this comeback.

Although it remains to be seen if they could beat BTS or Blackpink when they all had a comeback at the same time. My guess is Big Bang wouldn't, although it might've been a closer call than people esp new K-pop fans would give them.

You are using data until April 7 for Stray Kids from this thread. If they have 17M of ads and actual 64M views, It means It actually has 47M organic views since they aren't using ads anymore since first week. Still doing ~760K daily views, while Still Life is doing ~1,2M with 3 weeks of difference between both.

I don't buy "mass streaming" excuses, because It's still views, sorry. If It bothers you, you shouldn't be comparing them to younger groups in the first place.

But If It's so important for you, I can assure you Stray Kids have daily views longevity even months and years after release when their fans are focusing on new releases. Corrently only BTS, BP and TWICE are ahead them in such logenvity. That's why I said to you to wait and just see. Maybe BIGBANG will have a decent stability, maybe they don't. Who knows?

  • It truly is an achievement for the kings of kpop to defeat younger groups decades their juniors on youtube! They beat nct, how impressive :pep-pj-pink:

Honestly, for me this comparison wouldn't exist in the first place. But here we are. :pepe-hips:

  • Ngl this is a cringe comparison

That could be true, we'll see in the next YT update.

For reference in their first 3 weekly updates Maniac had 39.7m views, which means taking away the 17.3m ad views, their next update should be around 9m views? Which is unlikely since last week they did 6m views.

I would estimate the next chart update will be 5m or less giving them a total of around 44-46 million non ad views in 4 weekly updates, compared to Still Life will post over 44m total in the next update of only 2 total weeks.

  • We know that IVE is top tier when a <6 month year old group is being compared to Big Bang

Imagine what they will become in a few more years

  • That could be true, we'll see in the next YT update.

It depends. For example I'm mentioning their current views on Youtube. It means, I already counted more views than they will count in the next update on Youtube Charts. That I suppose to be April 8~April 14, so of course the views will be lower than what I said.

But as I said, comparing the first days or weeks between K-pop releases don't work well. The real popular releases are the ones that can pull on longevity through months compared to others and this is impossible to predict right now.

    lmao

  • lets hope their streams wont free fall like they did on spotify

  • Big Bang are legends. They paved the way for other K-pop groups.

To call them criminals and irrelevant is a disrepesect to entire K-pop community.

  • I think big bang definitely used ads for this comeback.

Except Youtube charts confirmed they didn't, it literally filters out ad assisted views and you can check the views on the day of the last update and compare them to the view on the counter, you'll see they match exactly. Meaning YT didn't filter out any of Still Lifes views.

No matter what you think or believe YT charts will 100% filter out ad views and their is no way around this system, if you used ad's it will show, if you didn't none of your views will be missing.

Of recent releases only BigBang Still Life and Red Velvet Feel My Rhythm's views weren't filtered.

  • just because your fave has ads doesn't mean all groups have big bang never used ads

big bang only had 46M views that's very little actually

  • So YT had this weekly update and and it showed about 75% of IVE's views came from paid ads.

100% of BB's came from genuine views.

Isn't the weekly update streams across all videos including performance, lyrics, and anything that uses the audio?

which road did they paved? China maybe? Definitely not the west and other parts of the world.

  • And VIPs need YT views for validation against 4th gen groups? That’s seriously sad.

  • And VIPs need YT views for validation against 4th gen groups? That’s seriously sad.

Nope they don't. The only thing I care about is enjoying new song from BB.

I was on my way out of K-pop and didn't check out anything about it for about 2 years now. Came back to the side to silently rejoice with few VIPs left here. The usual mud slinging and dick comparing daily life of K-pop stans - leave me out of it.

  • I think 2ne1 should have a comeback too. Show these 4th gen stans whose the real queen.

  • On the other hand, isn't it pathetic though for 'The Big Bang' YT views to be as low as 4th gen? Big Bang's youtube views that low? I thought they paved the way as someone said up there.

  • I don't know if this thread is just funny or sad. Imagine feeling overzealous vindication about your so-called legendary, top of their generation, over a decade old group at their big age barely coming out on top over a 4th gen group that is less than six months old, and full of teenagers who are not even 20-year-old yet.

What? They can't beat BTS or even their own label mates Blackpink, so instead the only pride VIPs can find is in beating a rookie?

    The "mighty" sure has fallen.

Why pathetic, wasn't rookie twice beating their views too. It's simply generation shift and social media cultures. I'm sure nobody expects they can still compete with these newer groups but well they still can with this boring mv
