Do you expect rookies to be good singers or rappers when they debut?

good, yes, but i don't think the standard should be insanely high. as long as they have some skill and lots of dedication, there's always room for improvement. plenty of singers have improved tremendously since they have started.

I expect for them to be good at the position they are. Do I expect them to be amazing and to blow my mind, no. They are called rookies for a reason. We have to give them room to grow into a full flegded idol.

i dont want to hear 'oh idol XX has less than a month of training period' but have untrained vocal

imo, vocal > dance >>>> rap

if you can rap that's a bonus, but you should be able to sing, at least...

dance is an integral part of kpop, but i dont want to listen to unsupported or untrained singing technique when im listening to spotify or apple music lol

Yes. That doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.

What I find with a lot of singers is that they either improve with the stability of their voices (because continuous performance is different than singing in practices), widen their ranges or grow their confidence in their singing/performance aspects with singing.

But much stronger and more versatile at 23

In contrast, Taeil was already an amazing singer at 21 (the year before debut)

The same is true of the dance abilities. Kun is not a dancer. But he is capable at debut at 23.
