Bruh, people do not look the same irl as they do on instagram.

I have literally seen Korean influencers edit themselves a new face. All you have to do is go on YouTube and you have influencers showing how they look in real life versus how they look after finding the perfect lighting, the perfect makeup, the perfect angle and so on and so forth.

These people look like regular everyday people. Yes, they may be above average in the looks department, but they don't look otherworldly pretty like they do on pictures.

Just look at the people around you. There is a reason that all these abnormally pretty people only live on Instagram and you don't see them in everyday life. It's because most of them don't exist. Even celebrities get PS and edit their photos. Most of the times, that beauty is not something achieved by normal means. 3/10 people are probably actually naturally that pretty.

It's hard to grasp this as a teenager whose eyes and mind are glued to what they see on the internet, but I hope you grow into learning and accepting that and learn to love yourself. And if you really want to look a certain way, then go for it. Exercise if you want to lose weight in a healthy way, and if your body is naturally thicker than others, learn what make-up and styling works best to off set your brand of beauty. Please stop comparing yourself to these unobtainable standards of beauty. You will never achieve them because they aren't real.

You'll never be satisfied if you keep comparing yourself to others and using them to measure your worth, because there will always be someone that has something you don't.
