Sadly they live everywhere except for super cold places. Sometimes during the summer I can't even take out the trash without getting bitten.

Yes and for some reason I'm always stung. Neither my parents nor my significant other have an problems with them, but I seem to attract them.

Yes, we have a plague of them due to the wet summer we had and some people have already had Japanese encephalitis. I have been bitten several times but try to remember to put on insect repellent.

Basically unless you live in Antarctica or some Arctic island there are mosquitoes. They can survive even in extremely arid desert regions but they are just much more rare there.

Unfortunately they are very common where I live (Finland).
