Not only was The Album going against tougher competition, BlackPink hasn't released in a while, so there's no telling what kind of numbers a new album would do. I wouldn't be surprised if their numbers were bigger than in 2020.
Also I find it more impressive that BP have been able to chart their songs on the Hot100 since 2017.
In conclusion, their fandom sizes might be similar but BP has way bigger casual audience and musical reach.

Nah their fandom size is not similar at all
BP sold like 80K tickets or something in early 2019 for their first ever US tour,their upcoming US tour will easily triple that
Also their upcoming album will definitely double their previous debut number (110K)
