What age did you guys get your own phone? (Poll)

16 it was the Samsung Galaxy nexus....I bought it with the money form my Holiday job. And only two week I got the phone my best friend broke the phone

My parents didn't want me to have one. They believed having my own phone would distract me from my studies.

from what I can remember I got the first phone of my own (a Samsung Galaxy J2 IIRC ) when I was 9 but I'd already been touching my parents' phones beforehand although I'm too shy to remember all the key details of that bc some of what I did to them was embarassing then and now

I was 11, lol. Looking back, not sure why I thought I needed a phone at that age, but considering my peers had started getting cell phones in 5th grade, I was desperate to have one myself. My parents had said no to one in elementary school but conceded the following year when I started middle school. It was the Motorola Razr in hot pink and I could only make calls with it. I did use it to text a bit but had to stop when my parents told me it cost them money, lol. I didn't get to start truly texting until like 8th grade.

It was the most ugly and terrible phone. But it was 2000 and I'm glad I got it

40. I got a Nokia phone and it was shit.

I think I was in 4 - 5th grade. All my classmates got the phone before me because I used to live so close to school, I did not need one.

I'm not bagging the company, I was just saying it was a cast off phone my partner gave me and it was basic and didn't work properly but it's all I had at the time. I'm glad I've graduated to an iphone and no problems. You have to remember that in my generation there was no such thing as a mobile phone.

at least it was the only phone i've ever lost.

I got my first phone the Christmas of the year I turned 13.

Late Teens - A landline not a cell phone. Long Distance was a killer cost wise.

Around 13, it was to be shared between me and my younger siblings... but we never used it lol
