Why are idols being silent about the Ukraine invasion?

In fact...the hypocrisy of (Some) the public and the governemnt is kind of disgusting to witness when there are exact same thing happening in the countries mentioned above, but no one gives a damn. There is too much happening in the world. its impossible for people to care about every issue.

Honestly I have never seen any celebrity speak about any other invasion as much as Ukraine. Ukraine is getting a lot of coverage, and now kpop idols(who dont talk about politics at all) are expected to mention Ukraibe as well......?

1) because "finally" someone other than americans and nato are doing the bombing, and in this case, a country the west doesn't like

2) ukraninas are white. white europeans are more important than darker middle easterns

as for idols not speaking up; i hope it stays the same. they can silently donate if they want but they are not politicians, it's not their job.

i hope this will end soon. sadly, ex yugoslav countries get what ukranians are going through right now

It is better to not say anything especially for Chinese idols because China is neutral on the case while SK is now an unfriendly country by Russia.

Same Korea that did what they did to Jung Woo-Sung, the UNHCR Korea Ambassador? Yeah, many countries did a favor for Korea during their hard times and they as a country don’t want to give back. So what makes you think individuals would put themselves out there like that?

Sure maybe they are indeed White, and that will be more acceptable to the korean public but you’ll still be called an attention seeker.

Idols and Politics do not mix. Idols exist on a semi-fantasy plane of existence which is why some fans think they can have romantic relationships with idols. If idols talk about politics, it takes the idol's fans into reality and reality means saving money and not buying 50 copies of the same album.

Why would they get involved in politics?

I could imagine even if they wanted to help they couldn't. Even the CEO of Kpop would be under a lot of preassure.

A wrong move could cut off gas and oil import between Russia and South korea.

There are Leaders from other countries that are sitting on their asses allowing Russia to rape the Ukraine, their sanctions are just like they decided to UNSUBSCRIBE from Russia's Social Media :P

In the meantime, Russia is threatening Sweden and Finland that if they SUBSCRIBE to NATO then Russia is totally going to TROLL their Channels with Putin EMOJIS

As for KPOP Idols they are more worried that they'd miss out on the next BTS comeback and what has become an urban legend that BP will actually have one
