can any girl group catch up to boy groups’ sales?

    Approved the thread.
  • yeah as long as bts exists, I don't think so. Bp has potential to sell like NCT and SVT for their average album sale even then I doubt it. Twice can catch up to total cumulative sales of certain bgs.

  • if we leave out bts, then yes.

bp & twice are selling like top tier 4th gen bg, so they are right on track

  • bp will sell 2m next comeback

  • Bp will for 3rd gen and aespa and nmixx (the rate they're going) will for 4th gen

  • For each gen only 1 gg sells as much as top bgs

    2nd gen snsd

3rd gen blackpink (twice earlier too) when you take out bts

  • bp will easily sell as much as nct svt if they do individual cheaper versions like these boy groups. Nct svt sales are hard carried by these cheaper versions. If blackpink do them, with their akgaes they will easily sell better than both.

Aespa's next album will be interesting to look if their sales are strong or savage sales were just a fluke.

  • total sales - twice is already so close to exo

sales per album - BP can

  • bp and aespa did... Most ggs are starting to sell as much as bgs nowadays its only a matter of time until all of them get on the same level in sales.

How is twice selling like a top 4th gen group when top 4th gen groups already surpassed 1M sales? BP has a shot to match nct or seventeen sales and that's it. Twice isn't gonna grow at the same rate like 4th gen groups, probably they are already close to reach their peak, it will depend how they do internationally in the next comebacks

Not gg will catch to bgs.

    Stray kids: 1.3M

    Enhypen: 1.2M

Top 4th gen bgs are heading into 2M sales while ggs haven't crossed 1M sales yet. I want ggs to sell as much as bgs but that's not gonna happen.

Txt is a top 4th gen group and hasn’t achieved a million yet. Twice has an album that sold around 800k so they’re close, but I agree with you they won’t surpass them cause txt will for sure have multiple albums that sell a million soon while twice is close to their peak

  • depend, if you got more hardcore fan boys then yeah. the fan girls are crazyyyyyy

they buyin stacks and stacks of albums just so the artists reach #1. Of course there's also fan boys who does it too, but ratio is not comparable

  • Not really. It won’t be back to the days of SNSD outselling everyone because multiple bgs these days can sell multi millions while only bp has broken a million just once. That’s a big difference.

  • I don't think we should remove bts so you can say bp will sell more than bgs (still to happen). BTS is the competition of bp and they are the representive groups per gender of international success of 3rd gen. It happened what always happen boy groups become more popular than ggs even if their paths are similar (both of them breaking into west/international expansion)

  • a SNSD in 2011 scenario won't happen for a long ass time as long as BTS is active tbh

  • if we leave out bts, then yes.

They are not selling like their 3rd gen BG counter part. Twice are already beaten by 4th gen BGs. They are not in the running for anything other than cumulative sales. Blackpink it’s hard to judge. But I don’t think they’ll be beating seventeen and NCT’s sales either.
