I dislike how the promotions are already decided before hand and none (especially yg) capitalize on bsides because some are not just getting attention but are doing better than the main track. These bsides deserve an MV and the company should find the budget to film one. Just a performance or promotional video is not enough.
What should companies do about viral bsides?

Why spend millions on a fancy MV when it's already popular?

Popular for an instant some songs were wasted because companies didn’t try to capitalize it for example shoot was going viral but the hype went down because they didn’t even promote on tik tok

should've been a title track tbh

But the OP's argument that a performance MV isn't enough and they should make full scale music videos. If a song is already popular, no one is going to care if it has a fancy music video. Money is still extremely popular despite the fact that it only has a performance MV.

Maybe special performances of sorts would be cool?

Do a better job in the next comeback.
And by that I mean, not promoting just the main track and call it a day.

Special performance video OR perform the b-side at least once on music shows. I remember when Winner debuted and they started performing Don't Flirt even though Empty and Color Ring were the title tracks.
So YG knows how to do that? Lisa’s dance performance was expected since Rosé’s Gone had an MV. It’s the lack of promotion after going viral was what’s upsetting. The good thing about Darari is at least the members are promoting it in tiktok

I hope they perform it on music shows

Good point, iconic dance practice seems like oaky choice

some companies did well jumping on the viral ship
E.g.
Kara with Mister
Blackpink with Forever young (promoted on music shows but still no MV)
Winner on Dont Flirt
I guess sometimes things are pre-planned. Even if a bside catch attention later, the acts might not have time to promote on music shows and company might not be able to book promotions

but MVs are expensive and unless one can recoup the costs (upwards of 500K jikjin but around 250K for some of BP's ones) it's probably not that profitable

Post-album singles are a big challenge, especially when album cycles are so short in K-pop. I don't think it's within their time and budget to make an unplanned full-fledged MV. What they can do is make an special clip and promote it.
