My number 1 is "Rookie". I didn't "hard stop" and really pay more attention to Red Velv until after I heard/saw this MV then I started listening to more of their instrumentals.

The production of "Rookie" has a level of mastery and skill that I can't ignore just like "Tightrope" by Janelle Monáe. I L-UV how "Rookie" drives forward during the verses and "leans back" into an infectious and funky moment in the chorus that pulls up "marching band" (specifically dancing majors and drummer hitting their drums with one hand) in my mind.

"Signal" is second. It's not structured in a way that is as infectious "as-is" for some listeners in my area but the elements are there.

I am not a big fan of KTL but Rookie and Signal are like my most hated tracks

KTL is one of the best Blackpink title tracks

At the moment for me it's like this:

KTL = Signal > Rookie

Signal has a small edge though, cause I've been replaying it recently and I guess that's why I finally changed my mind about it

I only care about Signal out of these 3. It's such a guilty pleasure

Rookie is the only one I don't like so

Rookie, I don't like the song. The pre-chorus is really good but the rest of the song? Hard pass.

Signal is OK too. Gets extra points for being TWICE and having a cute mv
