Why is Teddy not producing song for TREASURE and give them their first hit song?

I think because YG is trying to brand them as a self-producing group and if their first hit was a song written by Teddy, they'd basically admit defeat.

Because Teddy is already busy with his own groups and I think that YG try to let Treasure be a self-produced group. Just seeing this comeback and how members participed to almost all songs for composition and lyrics say a lot. I think Treasure could be able to compose their own stuff with help or almost none sooner that expected. And I would be happy as fan because their composed songs are great from what we heard.

I wouldn't be mad at Teddy producing song for Treasure but I think the boys don't need him to make a hit.

Teddy oppar takes forever to put out stuff for bp & somi and you wannna give him more work 💀

maybe a teddy song isn't right for them

This time around, they are credited for composition and Yedam isn't from rapline. I expect an rnb song from him.

Also, let's not forget that the first step serie was from before YG decide to let members compose their own stuffs and most of songs was composed back in 2019 (They still let Asahi compose a song for 1 single). Since then, members are always in their studio composing. That's why I wouldn't be surprise to see them more credited next albums for composition and not only for lyrics. Before, YG wanted a typical bg but they changed mind seeing members composition their things so it's pretty apparent that YG wnt let them be self-composing group as they did for each of their bg before.

Teddy can’t even manage to produce a BP song currently.. and even if he did one for Treasure, imagine how pissed Blinks will be? That’s like a death wish lol

BP is coming out with something (Jisoo solo and BP mini album probably) this year. Somi said she has something big coming up during a recent western promo (interesting that she did the promo now, since she hasn't done anything music related for a month). TBL is working on a new GG. YG is working on a new girl group. I think BB/member is planning on releasing something as well.

Teddy is definitely working on music for BP (Jisoo), Somi and TBL gg (still probably more than a year away though, since Teddy wasn't at the trainee review shown on 'I Am Somi'), and maybe also BB and the YG ngg. Teddy is busy.

Teddy chooses who he works with,he clearly has zero interest in treasure

He is instrumental in the members that ended up making Blackpink & that was like 2015 so I'm sure his influence in YGE nowadays is 2nd to Yang hyun suk

Treasure's writing skills are treated like a bonus by YG, not an essentiality.

Compare Treasure's situation with Winner and iKon's. Both Winner and iKon have produced close to their whole discographies by themselves and were more or less forced into doing so. On WIN there were multiple original song missions even though at the time not a single iKon member had written/composed a whole song before. BI and Bobby (who had some experience writing rap) ended up having to pull three all-nighters trying to create a song. The fact that YG had them do that shows have much weight he put on self-producing. Basically, if they couldn't do it they weren't debuting. After debut it was basically the same. If Winner or iKon wants a comeback they have to make the songs themselves.

Treasure are credited on their albums but they aren't the main people responsible for their discography or making sure they have new music. So not a self-producing group (at least not yet)

They're still a new group, that's normal YG still want them to work with their producers, but just look at the tracklist of their next comeback it seems that they will get rid of producers soon soon.

Didn’t Teddy only ever worked with Big Bang, 2ne1, and BlackPink?

Winner and Ikon has been producing their own songs.

Though I don’t get the lists of producers and composers for Treasure when they have multiple members who can produce and write their own songs. I think if there are too many names in a song, most of the time it just ends up sounding… blah
