Armys lost a lot of sleep last week just to be played like this. I remember being so tired staying up late for this.

From the ridiculous article, now this.

I wish we could just boycott billboard. We wanted to prevent the media play but there's no winning against them since they're the one who makes the rules.

I wish we can destroy this f chart.

  • I knew this chart was pointless from the very beginning and it's why I didn't participate. There is no guarantee Billboard will make this an award, and BTS will not benefit from this as their US career is stabilized now. What makes me disappointed is how easily some fans fell for the blatant media play. This "chart" represents nothing substantial, only how much time fans can spend spamming a hashtag. We are not the same fandom we were in 2017 and even 2018 when BTS were not guaranteed a foothold in the Western music industry. Don't treat media play as a threat. We can do it with K-pop writers, and this should be no different.

Billboard has been playing armys for years (always uploading the hot 100 late when it's predicted they'll be #1, awful clickbait headlines, calling them out for pure sales when radio stations refused to play korean songs, and that entire trash article last year defaming them to their faces). I've been over the obvious bad treatment of the guys for a while, but Dynamite is when it got even worse.

Don't waste your time with this shit. Because that's what it is: shit.

  • I refused to even bother with this chart tbh. It just didn't seem worth it to continue to engage Billboard. BTS are pretty well established in the US music scene now so I don't think ARMY needs to put up with Billboard (or anyone else) the way that we needed to even two years ago.

I didn't know it was that bad since I just become an army last year. I knew about how media treated BTS but this just break my heart since me and other armys were fell for it.:cryc:

And I keep seeing people say "this chart sucks, don't give them your time" and then use the damn hashtag right after. That defeats the entire purpose of calling BB out! If I were you, I'd go about your days and weeks ahead and not pay attention to BB until it's time for a comeback.

It's like not Spotify or Youtube or korean charts where we get daily and weekly updates, and they're more or less transparent. Billboard is not, period.

  • Honestly speaking I don't give a damm about this chart. It isn't gonna be anything helpful at all. Especially for BTS.

But I like this chart for one reason. They made ARMYs do something collectively after a very long time. This was refreshing :cutes:

If they weren't using us for engagement, I'd be glad too. But armys are a clout magnet for this corporations.

Can't wait for BTS to comeback and f destroy them.

    :mooning:

I did try to ignore it but when eveybody went on board I was like, I'm gonna help you guys. :danceb:

This is what convince me to join the freakin spamming chart. Everyone was working hard together to reach the goal. Even the big accounts were supporting it.

Just don't let this "chart" stress you out. It's not worth it

i'm okay now but i need Jk's ost. I'm gonna stream the heck out of it.

  • ARMY need to remember the original reason we went all out for BTS to chart and win awards was so more people would notice BTS and check them out. I don’t understand the need for BTS to be number 1 in everything all the time. This is how media can manipulate us, by our need to give BTS the best of everything. But now we need to differentiate which ones are important to work on and which ones are not.

  • I know this chart is useless, but still i keep using the tag everyday, and retweet endless when I open twitter, this sucks

Their article doesn't even match their allegedly real time tracking chart so yeah it sucks.
But everyone is working hard again to get the top spot this week.
Hoping they read my tweet to boycott the chart.

Torn with I'm supposed to be proud that a local group from my country is doing well and disappointment with Billboard.

  • oh Hi Filo Army :borahae::borahae::borahae:

    Hi there!!!!!

Palaban ang armys. Competitive eh. Walang makakapigil pagnasimulan na. Nawala beauty sleep ko dahil sa chart na yan. Kahit nakakadisappoint yung mga articles, life goes on pa rin. Kahit bwusit ako kanina, nakapaglabas ako ng sama ng loob dito sa forum haha. Masaya na uli. :smirks2:

Changed the title of the thread from “Billboard played the armys (i'm not okay)” to “Billboard played the armys (I'm okay now)”.
