people who say this are usually people who are trying to look down on other people just because disney movies are animation movies
and because they can't go beyond their prejudice that animation movies are just for kids and nothing else
because if they would do it they would notice that the lesson that these movies are trying to share with people are most often lessons that adults forgot, and it would be a great reminder for some of them sometimes

They say the target audience are kids, but I doubt a 5 year old fully understands the message. Also many of the older Disney movies have very dark themes. I think it’s fair to say that its targeting families as a whole. Kids enjoy the colors, the cartoonish behaviors of the characters and the music … while the older ones enjoy the rest.
