(the idea is fun and all if you think omg what if I were ~insert something fictional here~)
but the truth is... I can hardly deal with the fact I will outlive my cats I still have not recovered from my beloved hamster's death and it will soon make 1 year???

Yes, for 2 reasons
1) Fear of what happens after we die/the unknown
2) I get to see all the cool inventions and discoveries that will happen. It always makes me lowkey sad that I won't be here to see when we develop the technology to explore further in space and see whats going on on other planets
But then no for many others: everyone I love dying, the inevitable destruction of earth, and all the other horrible things immortals would have to experience. And if it's true our universe will eventually collapse, WTF IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME IF I CAN'T DIE!??!

Honestly, it’s the opposite for me.
If it weren’t for my religious beliefs, subtle blessings in my life, and the answers that sufficed my curiosity, I probably wouldn’t be here or would resort to self-harm due to the constant societal and internal stress and pressure. It seems more appealing to want to escape than face your problems, easier to quit before even trying, easier to cower than be brave. In my opinion, living is harder than dying.
In a sense, I’m glad that this world is temporary. Glad that everything decays in the end. Glad that there is nothing that’s permanent in this world. All in all, the system of life cycle is for the best. Hence, despite the natural human nature to wanting survive a bit longer, I persistently remind myself to live like a traveller. I can not always reside here as I am on a journey to my final destination. Personally, I prefer death over immorality. Immorality sounds more terrifying than death, I wouldn’t want to stay for too long in this disadvantaged world that is heading towards nothing but their own destruction, both mentally and physically. In essence, I do not fear death, but the state I die in— due to the way I lived.

I'm more worried about losing the people I care about. That's a bigger fear of mine, so I'd only want to be immortal if they can be immortal with me. I can imagine it being extremely lonesome and even torturous otherwise. Also, I'd want to stay in peak physical condition if immortality is granted.
As for fear of death, I fear missing out on doing what I want to do. I fear getting older for that same reason; we don't get to do certain things when we're older or it won't be quite the same experience.
It's worth reminding ourselves not to worry too much. What we can do is to appreciate what we have and try to do what's good for us and others every day.
