Why is HYBE/Big Hit so obsessed with Minju (former IZONE)?

Doesn't she have a huge fan base? One of the biggest album selling power along with sakura, chaewon and yuri when she was in izone?

You would be surprised. Minju would sell 100-150k by herself if she came out with a solo album. Wizones love the girl. She was pretty much the center of Izone in their last two comebacks.

And Urbanworks clearly pressured her into staying with acting, Minju never wanted to leave her BFFs at Izone.

She’s pretty and she’s more popular with Koreans for her visuals than Wonyoung. She would be the next it girl if she signed to Hybe but she wants to go her own path.

at fansigns she and Sakura sold the exact same amount everytime and sometimes she was even a bit ahead

Her popularity might not in the same level as Wonyoung, but still enough for a company to be "obsessed" with her.

Some idols get popular with the public. Some idols attract hardcore stans that throw dollah billz at them. Minju was one of the latter (top sellers along with Sakura/Chaewon and, to a slightly lesser extent, Wonyoung/Yuri). Think HYBE just really wanted money-makers for their group lol

She is born to be a center, i'm sorry Urbanworks but you're a mothereffing dumbass for convincing or forcing Minju to give up her idol career. Look at her with the other It Girls of 4th generation, she still manages to hold her own against the likes of Yeji, Wonyoung, Yujin and Miyeon.

Exactly. Sakura/Minju/Chaewon selling power would equal or surpass Ive. 250k right off the bat with the potential to do even more for followup comebacks, for a GG that's insane. Only Aespa has done better. They wouldnt even need to add any more members, just debut the three of them as a powerhouse Izone subunit.

60k for Eunbi

92k for Yuri

200k+ for Wonyoung and Yujin

250k+ estimate for a potential Sakura/Chaewon/Minju debut

Izone selling power is insane. Mostly solo stans plus some dedicated Wizones who still wanna support the individual activities.
