It will be interesting to see who become more popular: Leeseo or Winter

    Basically all Korean online communities are giving favorable reviews to IVE, the members and music. And as expected certain comparisons started regarding charting. Obviously IVE will never have charting like Aespa because they don't have the advantage of a Big 3 company and fandom, yet in terms of individual member popularities there might be different dynamics.


    It seems Leeseo and Winter are the most likely to have a big public following. A short Leeseo clip went intant viral in Korea and those people paying attention to her aren't the typical kpop fan or company stan, they are "muggles" (casuals/non-fans) as Koreans call them. So it might be Winter and Leeseo fighting it out for who becomes the public's pick. Leeseo surprisingly has gained more male fans than expected. Winter male fan might switch over to her, and even some female "muggles" who may think Winter is an Ilbe user due to some alleged slang she used.

    second Leeseo mostly gets praised by IVE fans it’s way too early to call her or anybody in IVE other than WY a public pick


    also that slang issue was quickly forgotten Winter’s relevancy hasn’t changed in the slightest n she got two viral fancams and another #1 on brand rep girlie is safe :pepepizza:

    I'm looking at it long term. Suzy debuted when she was 15 and that point Yoona was already an adult. Yet they were always portrayed as rivals for the public's popularity by the media.

    good news for you, Winter got two #1 on brand reps , has the most viewed Aespa fancam , two of her fancams went viral this month again and she’s the 4th most searched female kpop idol on YouTube in korea

    above her there’s Taeyeon Jennie and I forgot who but it was a BP member

    also she went viral in Japan and even some celebs mentioned her lately


    Karina is still super popular tho don’t get me wrong . Aespa got two IT girls I think Karina is just more comparable to Ryujin type of fame like big with ifans

    imo Winter’s only “competition” is Wonyoung relevancy wise and even so they have different kind of fans

    Winter mostly has male fans and Wonyoung’s the biggest with teen girls

    Winter, Wonyoung and Leeseo all have "public friendly" appeal. But from what I'm observing from Korean communities, attention towards Leeseo is encompassing basically all demographics, from young girls to older males.

    In Savage era Winter has been pushed by the company, but she won't stand by herself - her IT factor isn't as strong as Karina's.

    taeyong seems like he’d be the most popular in NCT but when you look closely jaehyun is more popular

    or in itzy, you’d think yeji would be the most popular one because of her unique looks and she does give off IT girl vibes but ryujin is the #1 internationally and yuna nationally

    I think a lot of Winter's popularity comes from people wanting her to be the next Taeyeon. Especially Aespa and SM company stans. This is why it's similar to Yoona x Suzy comparison. Yoona had a lot of backing from SM/SNSD fans, while Suzy had to rely on her own individual fanbase and public because miss A has a much smaller fandom.

    We don't know that yet.


    We haven't gotten to that point yet. Plus, there are still some big groups coming up. People are really jumping the gun.


    We have seen people go viral and benefit from it in a big way and sometimes not.


    Not saying Leeseo won't make it big, but comparing her to Suzy is a bit much right now. And Winter does give more of a Taeyeon vibe versus a Yoona vibe.
