They don't matter to me, my partner and I have been together twenty years. He isn't overly handsome but there's far more to a relationship than good looks. He is my mental health rock and has a good sense of humour. I have had handsome partners that were arseholes tbh and wouldn't have put up with my mental health issues. Looks imo are superficial.

As I said, it matters but not all there is to it.
The first guy I ever truly liked was cute but not gorgeous and there were multiple guys I found cuter in close proximity. So yeah, for me there needs to be some base-level physical attraction but to truly get interested I need to click with them personality-vise.
I'm not much of a looker myself,and it's not like it's raining men for me so I'm really not that picky lol
I have to be attracted to the person, no looks are not everything. I value personality and how someone treats me over other factors. I'd rather date someone with mediocre looks who treats me right than someone with great looks who's a complete dick. Attraction comes in many forms, personality, looks etc. Sometimes the greatest looking person isn't the best person in the world.
Physical attraction not at all, as it doesn't appeal to me (I actually tend to forget what people look like but remember everything else about them) My general attraction works of the basis of a individuals personality, (I don't have a general scope of personality traits I like, it varies to each individual) any real attraction I have to someone develops out of getting to know them, if it clicks it clicks if it doesnt there's nothing.

there's lots of different things that make up what attracts a person to another...
and that's different from each person to person
what I find attractive you might not and vice versa...
visuals or purely looks and here I would separate that from other physical features such as their body (tall/short, slim/fat, curvy(what's the opposite of non-curvy?? atheletic???) etc
if one is only focusing on visuals then it matters to a certain extent but it's not easily quantifiable...how does one measure it? you can't pinpoint that looks make up 30% of my decision making so thus all one can say is that it's important but so too are other factors even then different people might have differing weights for the those factors
