Hey, I was a teenager in the late nineties and early noughties. People used to blank out their entire lips with thick concealer. It was always ‘cat’s bumhole lips’ in my mind!

When I do make-up on people at work, I quite often use two or even three lip colours to get a really soft gradient look, but most people prefer the trad darker on the outside, lighter on the centre look where I am - they’ve not really mostly caught onto the reverse trend yet. I do enjoy the way it looks though!
That reminds me of that english beauty guru who puts corrector in the Center of her bottom lip…it looks so stupid…
At least you trying to spread that trend. Let’s hope it gets caught on!

That actually wasn’t that bad, what killed me was the 10 times darker outlines…
I could never get my lines perfect and it looked like a 5 year old tried to draw my lips. It didn’t help that I was a teenager with a mom who hardly wore makeup.

Oh my mum never did either. My crimes in the name of make- up were mostly shimmery eyeshadow smashed on with my fingers all the way up to my eyebrows and a godawful frosted lipstick that was probably called something like ‘Cosmic babe’. Also concealer under my eyes that was orange because no-one expected anyone to have a flesh tone that was naturally the colour of an 800year old vampire like I do.

Ok…the way I was the same. Single shimmery colour full eyelid, shimmery lips and red round cheekbones.

Also make me realize that I kinda like both. I hate the fact that they trying to make big juicy lips look thinner as if it’s a crime…but if it’s done right and not too strong it does looks ok.
Same goes for the other. It can make them look like clowns if it’s too strong but they can also use a more natural colour and emphasis their lip shape…
