If someone likes the overall format of dance battles, I'd recommend to also watch SDC, 4th season is currently airing with a lot of big names from street dance - GOGO Bros, HB, Poppin C, Nelson, Acky, etc. From the idol side, they have Yibo, Lay, and Han Geng + Henry from Suju M.

Mnet should really tone down the crappy drama, this is not a rap battle but a dance battle, they are smearing the street dance culture with that shit - in reality, there is no excessive trash talking or dissing but a lot of cheers and hype.

I am really curious about what Prowdmon's leader wants to say. It's weird seeing her cry in that room. She is like the senior of the seniors. All the dancers who were mocking each other feared her and admitted they don't want to even stand in her way. She was the dance teacher for many leaders there too. To see her cry like this means she will lose. It must have hurt her pride since she is considered the best.

Same, she must have such a heavy burden on her shoulder to always be the best and seeing her make mistake and get mad at herself is so sad. I really Monika based on what i see from ep. 1.

Considering how many questionable decisions were made by the judges, where they practically don't look at technique and skill at all because they cannot really assess that (none of them have enough bg in street dance), then yeah, she might have lost and probably felt that it was unfair.

The show said the judgment would be based on charisma and stage presence mostly. Especially the round in which Monika loses seems that it is about who wins the center position by catching the most attention. Most of these dancers go to dancing battles where it's judged regularly so they're not missing anything but this as a tv show (as they stated in the intro) is going to judge their creativity in catching attention and stage presence. Plus it's kinda difficult to judge technique when a lot of contestants have different dance styles.

In my opinion, the judges choosing the La chica girl over Aiki makes no sense. Aiki is a lot better. Not only do they request to repeat the round because the La chica girl makes an embarrassing mistake (her fault tbh) but even in the second round she doesn't do much and the highlight is literally getting upstairs (it's fun to see when they get creative and use the surroundings but she doesn't use it that well IMO).

They could have but they are airing at the same time as SDC's 4th season, so I guess they were filmed around the same time too - I doubt any big name that is willing to go on a TV show would pick SWF over SDC when the latter has so many legends this year and Tonygogo as the judge, lol. Plus I don't really get why would they limit the competition by gender.

Mnet should have licensed the SDC format (or rip it off, lol) and use idols as captains for promotion, plus tone down the drama so that idols could actually learn from all these great dancers instead of being shat on for existing - like, they are literally using Chayeon as a punching bag to sell the show. Yibo & Lay really grown as dancers after being on SDC - the former now is a solid locker, while the latter got into krumping. Mnet could have done the same with Chayeon + other idols.
