There are similarities but the songs have totally different vibes

I would say the only real similarity is some of the instrumentals and the overall vibe of the song, that guitar used in Weekend is pretty much the same as Say So. Weekend has a completely different song structure from Say So and also has a lot of low vocal parts that Say So lacks. Also, the prechoruses and bridge of Weekend lack that guitar, so in those parts of the song I can't really find a resemblance to Say So

I can hear it. Mostly in the instrumentals/vibe/vocal style.

I hear more Say So similarities from this Gwen Stefani song though (even though the vibe isn't as similar as Weekend). The bridge is even almost exactly the same as Say So's ending. I find it uncanny.

They sound a bit similar and give the same vibe. There is a disco beat in the two songs, a sensual/smooth vocal tone and funk guitar riffs.

The first time I heard Weekend, I think of Doja Cat immediately, especially the second verse where Taeyeon raps.

It’s not a bad thing to be compared to Say So as it’s a good song. Fans should not be offended when others say Taeyeon’s song was heavily influenced by Doja’s song.

I think both songs have the same vibe and type of style/genre, just like a number of girl crush songs have the same vibe and fall in the same (sub)genre, and just like a number of R&B songs can have the same feel to them.
