Why did HYBE choose HueningKai as the stage name instead of Kai (which was his real name btw)?
"Kai' is more appealing and easy to read.

maybe because the whole point of debuting idols is to not make them being overshadow by other idols
if his name was kai, when people would have search for him on google they would have find EXO kai considering that he's the most popular idol with this name
not the first time it happen like Lia real name is Choi jisu but debuting with the name Jisu would have been hard for her considering that there's already jisoo from BP, that's why she use a stage name from her english name
or How Karina real name is Jimin, but using a stage name would have been smarter that's why she use her baptismal name

It's easier with soobin because at least wjsn's soobin is a woman ans victon's subin has a different romanized writing. Also both are not as known as Kai would be. I think it's a good way to maintain his name as his identity while having a more unique one.
War flashbacks to those few stupid fans who nitpicked on his actual name, it's just so dumb. And a while after, several sm stans blamed us for sometimes nicknaming HueningKai Ningning even before her debut

Agreed. Hueningkai is quite a long name and hard to type for someone who isn’t familiar with him. But we know going with kai isn’t going to help when there is another popular idol with that stage name. I think kai kamal would actually be a better choice, plus it’s his name instead of family name.
Btw op do you like kai? I’ve seen you creating multiple posts about kai these days
