Oh yeah I agree, but I feel like the charts have only really become "alive" with idol songs these past few months. In late 2020 and early 2021, I remember people complaining all the time that the charts were "dead".

I think that the idols success on charts revival took some time because it was indeed almost dead for a while except for the most successful groups but at the end of 2019 and 2020 Mamamoo got a hit with Hip, Red Velvet with Psycho and then groups who usually don’t chart at all or not really well began to chart better. Then, BTS and Blackpink did their things as usual and finally the revival was confirmed with Oh my girl and Brave Girls.
