PEAK vs LONGETIVITY

Longevity for me, usually more iconic.

Unless you only think #1 is considered good peak. There are many huge songs blocked from #1 and peaked at #2. That's still a peak

Longetivity bring you more money and impact.

Longevity. That means the song is still remembered and listened long after its initial hype had dwindled.

Longevity but peak gets the most attention

You could have peaks without longevity.

But it is extremely rare to have longevity without peak.

It is the peak which introduces people to the song, which otherwise would pass unnoticed by the masses.

Then whether that converts to longevity, is a question.

So depends on where the artist is in their career. Early days, peaks.

But only established with name recognition, longevity.

Ehhhh sometimes neither. Hard to say what’s an organic non GMO grass fed hit these days.

Peaks just show that the song was checked out when it was released. But longevity proves that the song is well liked. So longevity over peaks IMO

Peak is what often determines whether a song is seen and remembered as a hit, but not just any peak, it has to be a significant peak, one that lingers on its top for a while.

Longevity determines whether a song was underrated at first and happens to be a sleeper hit like Me Gustas Tu, or Dolphin.
