I saw this on Reddit. On first thought it seems like bs but once you think about it kpop is really a subculture. Similar to drag or furry culture, people aren’t born into it but they create their own community. There’s hip hop and rock communities very protective of their tropes, so why not also kpop fans.

Sadly if you were to make money off of it or benefit from it in any way, it would be cultural appropriation. Language is one of the most valuable elements of a culture. If you study Korean and then make money off it, you would be committing CA.
This is why CA allegations are absolutely mindnumbingly stupid.
