Idk about dream being 4th gen or 3rd but are you indicating that it's strange? because SM always had more than one bg in the same gen. TVXQ, SUJU, and Shinee. NCT and EXO.

Not just Dream but NCT as a whole, together with aespa, are SM's future. This is especially true with NCT's case since they're created with the intent of crossing generations thus a great investment for the future. Time will come that the NCT units will be breaking each other's records, one comeback at a time. They will be growing and growing by then. I mean they're starting now. This must be what SM have been thinking when he's planning for NCT's system.

I am pleasantly surprised with how good Aespa are doing! There were going to be successful but didn't think they will have this much success in such short period of time
