I noticed the standard for Hit songs for every gen is changing...
4th Gen might have the lowest on average standard for Hit songs...
Do you agree? If not, why?

isnt dalla dalla only 4th gen hit song and maybe next level if it continues charting well
isnt dalla dalla only 4th gen hit song and maybe next level if it continues charting well
the bar is definitely low
These days charting on melon and digital chart is considered hit 😂
kinda agree.
is dalla2 even a mega/national hit? or just a hit? (dunno the difference)
the bar is definitely low
I mean MelOn the biggest streaming platform is losing ULs, downloads have decreased exponentially you barely see songs getting those certifications.
We can’t use the same standards we used before considering the factors I mentioned and many more.
the bar is definitely low
The bar isn't the lowest thing I see here
Is this thread just another excuse to shit on Dallax2 and Next Level?
I know this isn't your intention, OP, but people will use accordingly
how exactly the standard is low ?
2nd gen standard were higher because the GP was more interested in Kpop groups and using melon etc... was the only way to consume music at this time
3rd gen standard become lower (if you want even if i disagree), because GP start to lose interest in Groups, plus Groups interest shifted they are more fandom focus, by making content that their fandom will enjoy on youtube etc... and completely forgot Variety show on tv to promote which make them lose the close bond 2nd gen groups had with the public
and 4th gen it's even harder to have a hit, because they are way more way to consumer music
there's more music platform now than there was during 2nd and 3rd gen with Spotify, deeze, Bugs, Vibe etc...
the multiple scandal by idols make that GP aren't as invested in idols now
The standard aren't lower and lower
it's just that it's pretty much impossible with the current times to have hit as big than songs like Gee or sorry sorry these days because they are a lot of factor who change in 10 years
Oh they're definitely getting lower, though they shouldn't.
Oh they're definitely getting lower, though they shouldn't.
well fans can lower them all they want, but no one will call those songs true hits in any way.
Yes, mainly because kpop groups are not as big as they used to be during 2nd and 3rd generation

This is true though. But I feel like people will call any song charting on melon a hit.

I dont see what the point of lowering the standards. The standards should always remain the same throughout.
Keeping the same standards will mean that less groups will have have national hits. Which is fine.
Fans who are obsessed with the concept of national hits, will try their best to lower standards so that it can fit their own standards. It doesnt make sense.

Just a hit as u can compared it with song from 2018, it's longevity and digital points are lower and it didn't help Itzy following cmb
