NCT Dream's live vocals today in music bank

You do realize that lip syncing used to be the ONLY thing that happened on music shows right? It's not only considered normal now or even "becoming more common" it's literally the way it's been since the 90s.
And it's actually NOT sustainable. I don't give a shit how long they sing in each song. Idols literally work 16 hour days and function on no sleep during comebacks. They don't have ANY time to properly care for their voices. So they should go out there and do what exactly? Sound exhausted? Cause that's literally all it would prove.
This happened in the last week of Astro's comeback promotions. They're singing live. Doesn't prove they sing. It proves that Eunwoo sounds exhausted and Moonbin is having trouble breathing at certain points.

Not to mention Ten forcing himself to hit a high note after three minutes of intense cardio and causing his voice to break. Didn't prove any of them could sing. Just proved their choreography is exhausting.

And I'm sure it makes idols much more comfortable to lip sync than it is to be repeatedly dragged for a voice break. Heechul from Super Junior has talked about literally being afraid to sing live for YEARS because his voice broke one time during Super Junior's rookie days and he was mocked horribly for it.
During one of their recent videos, Renjun or Jeno (sorry, I don't remember which one) said that they had to wake up at 5AM~5:30AM for morning schedules and filming.

I think hectic schedules are a real concern. I can vividly remember Super Junior's Mr Simple era, they literally had to film shows and record performances back to back through the night for several days, I remember they sang live in Music Bank and music core for their comeback stages but by the 3rd day they lipsynched in Inkigayo (which is naturally the week's last music show) and it was obvious to anyone who paid attention that they were beyond exhausted and could no longer afford to sing live. They ended up getting dragged anyway lol, they promoted Mr Simple for like 2 months straight if not even longer, impecable live singing across the board and everyone only focused on that one single lipsynched performance. But that was before AR was introduced and before it became easier to fool people into thinking idols are singing live when they're not.
I agree with Quark that it's unsustainable but I also agree that there should be some kind of a balance that doesn't necessarily sacrifice the singing for everything else.

They've been putting out A LOT of content and interviews these past few days. Although they're fun, sometimes we forget how tiring filming all these videos for our entertainment at their expense can be. It's indeed sad that we can't always hear them sing live on these music shows, but they ALWAYS sing live at their concerts in front of their fans and that's where they are supposed to sing live out of all places, so at the end of the day them lipsynching on some music show shouldn't really be a big of a problem even if they had an empty schedule.
