She's the Global It Girl
Why isn't Lisa considered an it girl?

even if we exclude her nationality I think they have to take in consideration her popularity in Korea and she is the least popular member. I don't know there are may factors why some girls are more likely to be it girls than others.
She most definitely has that it factor but the only reason she's not popular in sk is her nationality. Theres no way those two are inseparable.

If she didn't have the it factor she wouldn't be popular anywhere except she is the most popular almost everywhere except that one country

I don't know what to tell you then but she is recognized globally no one comes close to her internationally.

Xenophobia, plain and simple. As you rightly point out, K pop is global, and her popularity is unmatched amongst female idols. The demand for her is so high, and her solo hasn’t even come out yet! No need to limit the term IT girl to only mean someone Korean.
People just don’t want to admit Lisa is the most popular female idol.

That doesn't really matter though. An it girl has always been a K-Pop saying about their brand power in Korea. That's why Lisa almost always gets called a "global it girl" because it's technically a different thing from being an "it girl".

She is arguably the biggest Kpop idol in the world. I think she is more recognized than any other idol globally.
