The LOTR trilogy vs Harry Potter series

I like both.
I definitely read HP with a lot more passion (finished the series in 2 weeks when i was 12, then reread it like three times in different languages after lol), but LOTR is really a fantasy masterpiece and it gave life to so many of the tropes we see in the genre all the time these days. The books did drag a bit to 14 year old me, but i felt very satisfied when i had finished the whole series.
It's hard to pick one to be honest, and since i read both in my early teens and they're both two series of books that made me love fantasy it feels like choosing your fave pet. HP has really stayed with me and i still reread parts of it occasionally while i have only ever read LOTR once so idk.

I think Harry Potter is more a generational thing.

Never interested to watch LOTR. Because I'm not a fan of fantasy movies. While HP is my childhood movie. Encourage me to watch it

I only had a LOTR phase due to kids at my school having all this merch and whatnot. That was back when I was a kid, though. Kids just did whatever the cool, popular thing was.
I'll have to go with Harry Potter. Both the films and the books, but more so the films, had an impact on me. Wrote my first fan letters to Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson and actually received something in return. Those days were special. It was just very cozy watching the films and anticipating new releases.

Ooh this is a tough one.
I can't pick one tbh.
LOTR extended editions are some of the best movies made ever.
HP series is perhaps the most iconic and known series too.
I'd pick both.
I will say this,
Half Blood Prince's movie adaptation was NEXT LEVEL disappointing. Like, much of Voldemort's past storyline was cut. Didn't like that one at all.
