Yes they were. Any time they dropped a new album you knew it was going to be #1 and no one else had a chance to beat them.

The last 5 years or so you never knew if BP or Twice or Iz*One or Red Velvet was going to be #1.

I think in terms of public friendly perception in Korea, you could make a strong argument for them. They were quite literally, well known everywhere (in comparison to other groups). Also very good on variety, which helps a group's image. Well rounded

Yes definitely. They were not only domintating other top ggs but also top bgs at that time.

that's true. I was assuming more GG was what OP was talking about, but I think the GP was more aware of SNSD and more negative to BigBang but BigBang had a massive fanbase

They weren't just dominant against ggs, they destroyed majority of bgs at their own game too. Outside music they were unrivalled, no group had the same level of popularity and public awareness.

They were the undisputed #1 for ggs in 2nd gen. No one comes for their position. That's enough.

i think they already have it in the bag... i know another kpop group would not be coming close to their achievements for a loooooonng time

except for when 2NE1 had a comeback at the same time... the fan wars were like nothing I have ever seen. Army vs Exo-L vs Blinks is not even comparable to when Mr Mr and Come back home were supposed to come out, believe me. But overall SNSD was more dominant

Isn't bts and blackpink dominating more? Atleast SNSD had WG,2ne1,tara and sistar who were rivals atleast on digital charts.

Is BTS Bigger? Hell yes. When they've topped Gallup multiple years in a row, have some of the biggest hits of their generation (including 3 mega-hits), and are the best selling physical artist in Korean history, it's not a question.
