I think it's a bit hard for future groups to get so many "iconic" songs because a lot of the GGs song are seen as iconic because they was early in the kpop wave and the competion was a bit less compare what it's today. Today we have heard and seen a lot more groups and songs so few songs feels "special" compared to others.

I would also say T-ara also have a lot of songs that are iconic or close to that status, but I maybe need to agree that GG is are to beat. And also 2NE1, but maybe a bit fewer iconic songs.

Yeah I'd say so. SNSD songs aren't just hits, they have lasting impact years on.

I'd add The Boys to the list. That song was hyped to hell and the entire CB was more of an event then a regular CB. I mean when other labels/groups change CB dates to avoid SNSD you know it was massive

Their title tracks still fucking bang nearly a decade later (for 2010 or earlier, more than a decade later).

No there are other second gen groups that have iconic songs as well.

they were the unanimous nation's girl group back then

(twice being the current nation's girl group is still pretty contentious among avid kpop fans so i wouldn't call it a unanimously given title)
