No, I drove by boat a lot when I was kid and I am good at swimming. In the open sea it is bit scary, if the waves are high.

When I was a kid I was afraid of water but I got over it eventually. What might work is if you put yourself in a life or death situation involving water and as long as you don't die, you should be cured

Have you ever experienced a trauma related to water? That might have caused your phobia.

I'm fine with water, I just don't know how to swim. I just stand in the shallows parts of pools and don't go to far in the water when it comes to beaches.

I am not - water is one of my favorite thigns in the world. But that could just be because I'm a Pisces. Water makes me feel calm - but I know it's a common fear to be afraid of water.

It helps here in Michigan where I live - there aren't many things that are deadly in the water.

I am afraid of boats and boats on dark water though.
