#floplikeTWICE the only GG to last 10 years..... continuously promoting annually but....

  • Don't they want children?

It's a question that isn't asked or if it has, no-one seems to talk about it but is a career really what they want?

Male Kpop Idols can have kids whenever they want since they don't need to give birth to them but female Idols.....

    tbh....

How long is too long for a female Idol to not have children WHEN if they weren't Idols they might have wanted to?

Twice are doing great, living the best life, working hard, getting paid, travelling, being free and bc they can and want. As long as they want to be part of Twice they'll. They aren't being forced, they love their job so I don't see the problem and I'm sure fans will be there for their decisions, which right now is being active as idols.

It seemed like JYPE was open to keeping Sunye as a member of Wonder Girls when she had a child. I recall the company coming out and saying that despite the hiatus, she was still in the group.

Her leaving seemed to be her own decision (she wanted to missionary work abroad or something??).

    I'm vague on it though.

Regardless, increasing numbers of people are choosing not to have a child anyway. Whether that is because of external pressure (career wise, or otherwise financial) is another question.

  • they have a lot of time for this

especially if we consider that even for regular normies people have kids these days later when they're more mature than it was in the past

  • Weird thread is weird. "How long is too long for a woman to not have children?" is such a bizarre and intrusive question, especially for a complete stranger to be asking, and asking what they WOULD have wanted had the circumstances of their lives been completely different doesn't do anything to change that. It just becomes a weird, useless hypothetical at that point. Let's be less weird.

  • Hmm, some members of Twice may be interested in motherhood, but I think they are at the height of their career in terms of being busy, demand, and productivity. They have been touring worldwide just about every year, consistently releasing music as soloists/units/group wise, actively creating content, and are actively securing brand deals and attending events.

Then, we also have some members like Dahyun and Jeongyeon who are venturing into acting. Twice may slow down at some point, but it's not looking like it will be 2026. They seem as hungry as they were when they first debuted. Plus, rumor has it that they renewed their contract for JYPE last year, which probably locks them in for at least another 3 years of touring and promotions. We'll see what happens in 2028.

Twice members are in their late 20s-early 30s, so they still have time to be thinking about that. Shin Min-Ah just got married at 41 after dating her boyfriend for over 10 years. Son Ye-jin got married to Hyun-bin at 40. For GGs, Tiffany is the first member of SNSD to signal she's ready for marriage and settling down at 36.

My point is that there seems to be a trend of women who are really active in the K-entertainment industry prioritizing their careers and marrying in their mid-30s to early 40s rather than in their 20s or early 30s. For those Twice members who are interested in settling down and having families, they still have years to actively promote and focus on career.

I don't believe in that rumour tbh. I think an investor even asked during an earnings call and JYPE just responded with something like "it's difficult to answer that question. But look, they're on tour until the middle of next year!"

So i think a small extension for the tour is likely but beyond that, I think if they had signed another three year contract JYPE would have announced this. It would be good for their stock price.

On the other hand, Twice have given no indication (besides the lack of a late year Japanese single) that they're in uncertain territory wrt renewals. So idk.

Edit: i suppose the other possibility is that they had signed for more than three years in the first place back in 2022 or whatever it was. I don't think the length of the renewal was disclosed?

I do think 2026 will be the first year without a group release.

  • While we haven't heard anything about their contract situation, beyond an apparently fake article claiming they already renewed, we don't actually know how long they previously renewed for, three years is just the general assumption based on precedent. So their contracts may not even be up for renewal again yet. If they are, they would have expired back in October, putting them in a rather unusual situation.

I apologize as my intent wasn't that they weren't choosing their career but if they were able to choose something other than their career.

Because they might be obligated by their success and their fanservice which limits their choices as a person

They ARE able to choose something else. It's called free will. If they wanted to quit the entertainment business by now and do something else, including settling down and starting a family, they would have done just that. The fact that they haven't should act as the only hint you need.

  • Mina is waiting for me to save enough money to move to Korea to start our new life together we all know this. :send-love-bunny:

  • That's true too. And, yeah I think 2026 is gonna be a year focused on solo work. Acting, solos, units, etc. Still eating good either way. Their tour is going till June, so we'll see what moves they start making after that.

    Yea.....

What world do you live in?

It's like you think that Parents can give up their job being parents because of free will.

In fact those Parents can even kill their kids and are allowed to because they have free will.

You completely ignore personal responsibility and the ties that the members have with each other and staff.

  • I live in the real world, where Twice had zero "personal responsibility" to renew their contracts and continue working together but did it anyway, because they enjoy what they do and make good money doing it, and where they don't owe anyone anything, entitled people like you least of all.

You evidently live on Planet Stupid, where it's okay to hold misogynistic expectations of complete strangers and try to burden them with responsibilities that simply don't exist in their lives, because they've chosen not to take on such responsibilities, as is their right. Yes, women have the right to self-determination where most of us come from. Imagine that.

Sorry but TWICE has personal responsibilities...... whether they renew their contracts or not, is part of that.

The reason they are working together is due to them enjoying their work, it's not that complicated.

You can shove your female power right up your ass because this isn't a topic about forcing females to have babies but the reality of TWICE members (and other Female Idols) being limited that option.
