2025 was a shift for 5th gen in k-pop despite what most people believe!

ALLDAYPROJECT! Who have had one of the strongest debut in 5th gen and history!

CORTIS who have debut very strong and have one of the strongest/most loyal fandom in 5th gen already! Enough to rival Baby Monster (I predict a future BTS vs BP with these two!)

AtHeart who already are dropping the underdog title and are up picking up supporters and listeners faster than this year is flying by

Then we have previous groups who are strengthening their fandom and developing their concepts!

BabyMonster, Illit, ZB1, RIIZE, MEOVV, Izna, KickFlip, BND, KIOF and more!

Again despite what most people on here say (i understand it’s a running unserious joke about 5th gen) we’re witnessing the birth or shift from one gen to the other!

I think we will see great things moving forward a lot sooner than most care to imagine

Other than All Day Project , literally the project of a bored heiress, it was a horrible year for the 4.5th gen.

aoen is a Japanese group. It doesn't even pretend to be Kpop, all of its members being Japanese.

H2H disappointed, the rest are fading. Without a major breakthrough, it will wither.

hmmm, I'm unsure if this year is the shift, but it's been the closest that it felt that 5th gen is here. I think they're still being blocked by 4th gen on the charts and sales. I agree that media-wise the tone around 5th gen has shifted, and the media is pushing more for 5th gen groups. Also, think fans are giving 5th gen groups more of a chance and actually checking out their music. If we look at AKP the sentiment to wards 5th group seems much more positive in 2025 compared to 2024.

I think the resurgence of Nmixx might delay some 5th groups from pushing out a 4th gen group. I guess there is a possibility of Idle being the group that is being pushed out. I'm still unsure if LSF is getting pushed out for a 5th gen group because they still seem to be that group performs well globally but a bit dicey in Korea.

I think in 2026, we'll see a new top 5 when discussing active girl groups. I'm just unsure if it's Illit, Babymonster, Meovv, H2H or a new GG that pushes pushes out some of the 4th gen groups.

I don't have the numbers but I do agree that the fifth is growing

I just don't really see them taking off or truly reaching the next level until the previous generation(s) are gone
