Is this really going to be the end of the KIOF ?

  • This year has probably been the worst for KISS OF LIFE


    They lost their artistic director.

    There was a scandal.

    Their comeback completely flopped.

    And now they didn’t even get invited to the awards.


    It feels like everyone’s avoiding them and totally ignoring their existence.

    They’ve apologized multiple times, but apparently, that wasn’t enough.


    Even in Akp, it’s dead silent,they’re being treated like ADP now.


    The most promising 5th-gen group is now just fighting to survive. It’s so frustrating

  • Lee Haein didn't work as creative director since november 2024, and all scandals didn't help


    things to note tho is that they are still popular in Korea because they are invited to a lot of university and city festivals and crowd cheers and is loud a lot during their performances



    they are invited to KGMA and Natty will even be a MC there. They are also in Asia Artist Awards line up

    Overall somehow when you look at MAMA line-up there is no Le Sserafim, no aespa, no NMIXX, no STAYC, no tripleS, no KISS of Life. So I wouldn't consider it smart to 'rule out' KIOF basing things on that. But in same time KIOF also weren't in The Fact Music Awards line-up. So basically we will see what will Melon do, because now it's like half/half. But if they won't be invited to 2025 Melon Music Awards, and also will miss some of SBS/KBS/MBC Gayo's then it will be bad for them.

  • I wouldn't count them out because of what has happened to them.


    Sure, their potential has taken a beating, but that doesn't mean they don't still have the potential.


    Lee Haein is an excellent CD (in fact, I'd say she's like a younger MHJ... without the questionable elements), who sets up groups on a high, and leaves them when they have the potential to flourish on their own.


    Their CB was great, but... a bit of a damp squid compared to when Haein was in charge of their image last. However, that doesn't mean they won't have success further down the road, as they could have a CB that generates more interest in the future than they did with Haein 😉

  • i think they stalled their progress. If we actually look at the numbers they went viral last year but unsure about the stability. We can't deny they had hits with Sticky and Igloo, and they were releases at the perfect time. However, their other songs weren't hits imo, and didn't really tell you much how strong their fandom in Korea is. I will say those 2 songs they were able to get casual listeners because they genuinely had a hit. I just don't think they were able to retain those listeners. I feel that's the toughest part about a group outside of the big 4 because it's hard to maintain listeners because many will just casually listen to a group rather than being fans to support every comeback.


    The scandal wouldn't affect them in Korea, but it did impact how their viewed globally. I'm unsure if affected in Asia region, but outside of Asia they were impacted. It's hard to find posts about the group that had a lot of hits like it did last year. I genuinely think groups need that because viral posts that happen internationally eventually make their way to Korea. Maybe things change next year, but it's hard for a post of theirs to make waves because international fans are either scared to post about them or have moved on.


    I think for them to recover they need another hit in Korea and eventually people will warm up to them again imo. I felt ADP felt a similar scandal with Tarzzan antics but Famous being a hit in Korea made people know they can't ignore them like what's happening with KIOF.
