The MASSIVE online hate doesn’t affect BLACKPINK in real life

  • As we probably have all seen since “Jump” release, Blackpink is once again the target of massive online hate (from Twitter, to Reddit, to TikTok etc.)

They get criticised for everything and all this negativity always surrounds them no matter what.

You can literally find hate comments on TikTok with 300k plus likes, and also a lot of them on Twitter.

However, this online backlash doesn’t translates into the “real-world”: doing good in korean charts, Apple music, spotify, YouTube, having a sold-out world tour, brand endorsements with luxury fashion houses etc.

I really find it fascinating how all this online hate doesn’t affect Blackpink at all.

  • As I said in the other thread about this, Twitter is disgusting.

People fighting their dumb fanwars there really think they're on some grand battle of legends, while they're all just idiots typing away on the screen, to forget the sad mundanity of their daily routine.

I've heard from several people that after leaving that website (and similar websites that are set up to make people argue, as arguing means sustained engament), they feel a lot better without that constant negativity.

The best way to make those haters fail is by supporting the idols.

  • As of right now TikTok seems to be the new Twitter/X. A cesspool of hate.

  • I think most of the more famous kpop idols have learnt to distance themselves away from the online negativity because they would have never survived in the industry otherwise.

As for why the hate doesnt translate to less success. They usually represent a very small percentage of people that listens to kpop and unfortunately most of the time is the extreme worst. Most people in the world dont have the time or energy to go around social media projecting hate.

The opinions of people in social media really doesnt matter as much as they think it does. Only when the mainstream media comes into play then the impact is felt.

  • I'm past the point of being bothered but why is every fancam on IG filled with the most disgusting comments :meme-what:

I thought that was a chill place :meme-what:

Chill? Insta is 10 times worse than Twitter and let's not talk about Tiktok, I don't even read comments there anymore.🤣

Insta is like an AI p-rn site now, and Tiktok is the 3rd WW of SNS.

  • I think all social media platforms are toxic when it comes to kpop. No matter the platform you can't escape the hate comments.

Unsure how I would rate the platforms but I think TikTok is becoming one of the worst. No matter the group I continue to see losers say X Idol is the next (idol that passed away) seriously how unhinged do you have to be to wish death on another idol!

I think we have to remember social media engagement doesn't equal popularity. Not naming any groups but there are groups that are popular online, but when it comes to sales and tours they're not selling out arenas. Meanwhile, groups and idols that are receiving hate due to online discourse are thriving when it comes to sales and touring.

Say what you want about Blinks, but it's one of the most loyal fanbase and they always show up when it matters. I don't mind Jump, but people need to realize just because you don't like a song doesn't mean it's not or won't be popular.

I think when it comes to hate trains we have to see who are the source of it. When it comes to blackpink it's clear it's mostly Hybe stans whenever I check out the account. That toxic account flop kpop is run by Hybe stans. So of course they'll make everything dramatic to make Blackpink look bad.

  • BLACKPINK members have millions of fans, are extremely wealthy, have dozens of friends irl, good relations with their families, are super busy with projects, and are not trapped in oppressive agencies, therefore, it's not too difficult for them to ignore online hate and instead focus on all the great things going on irl.

online hate is usually only overwhelming for celebrities who lack good support systems like this irl and who feel like online hate is ruining their career or feel like both the internet and real life are hostile to them and that they have nowhere to turn for love and acceptance.

  • What’s hilarious is they always kick things off with: ‘I used to like them, but…’

Like okay, we get it — you don’t like the group anymore. So why are you still making 1,000 posts about them?

They’re not just haters at this point — they’re clout-chasers. They know if they talked about stuff they actually enjoy, their views would fall off a cliff.

We’ve got prime examples over on AKP:

One is obsessed with how many replays they can squeeze out.

Another can’t stop camping in comment section X.

Y’all know exactly who I mean

    Good day 🙂
