I think they have a space there. They kind of remind me of Wonder girls with how many huge hits they had back to back, but then success abruptly stopped (for WG it was promoting in the West that did them in though, not feuding with their company). But I think Newjeans kind of inspired a wave of that nostalgic, Y2K, dancing in a group, tumblr aesthetic in kpop. And that makes them impactful enough to have a seat at the table imo.

Legendary for initiating a cultural reset and ending Blackpink and Aespa's girl crush concepts.

It's no surprise that Aespa and now Blackpink are thriving the second after NJ was sabotaged by a former SM mastermind.
